Roat Pruning. During and upon completion of any trenching/grading <br /> operation within a tree's dripline, shou2d any roots greater than one inch <br /> (1") in diameter be damaged, broken ar severed, root pruning to inclnde <br /> flush cu#ting and sealing of expasea roots should be accampiished under <br /> the supervision of a qualified Arborist ta minimiz� root deterioratian <br /> beyond the soil Iine within twenty-four hours. <br /> 12. Pruning. Pruning of the foliar canapies to include remaval of deadwoad is <br /> recommended and shouId be initiated priar to constauction operatians. <br /> � Such pruning wiil provide any necessary construction clearance, will <br /> Iessen the Iikelihood or potential far limb breakage, reduce `windsail' <br /> effect and provide an environment suitable for healthy and vigorous <br /> growth. <br /> �3. Fertitization. A program of fertilization by means of deep roat soil <br /> injection is recommendec� with app�ications in spring and summer for <br /> those trees to be impacted by construction. Such fertilization will serve to <br /> stimulate feeder root development, offset shock/stress as related to <br /> construction and/or environmental factors, encourage vigor, al�eviate soil <br /> compactian and campensate fox any encroachment of natural feeding root <br /> areas. Inception of this ferti�izing program is recommended prior to the <br /> initiation of construction activity. <br /> 14. Irrigation. A supplementaI irrigation program is recammended for ail trees <br /> (excZuding oak species} arid should be accompIishe� at reguiar three to <br /> faur week interva2s during the periad of May 1 through October 31. <br /> Irrigation is to be applied at or about the `dripline' in an amount suffzcient <br /> to supply approximately fifteen (15) gallons nf wa#er far each �inch in <br /> t�nk diameter. Irrigation can be provided by means of a soil needIe, <br /> `soaker' or permeab�e hose. When using `soaker' or permeahle hflses, <br /> water is to be run at low pressure, avoiding runoff/puddling, aliowing the <br /> needed moisture to penetrate the soil ta feeder root depths. <br /> 15. Mulch.
