The applicant is required to comply with the City's Tree Preservation <br />Ordinance and must obtain a tree removal permit from the Public <br />Works Department prior to the removal of any on -t. ite trees. <br />AIR QUALITY <br />If subdivided and developed, the construction contractor shall implement the <br />following Enhanced Control Measures recommended by the BAAQMD: <br />4. Construction vehicles shall be properly maintained and tuned to <br />minimize exhaust emissions. <br />5. Vehicle idling time shall be minimized to the greatest extent possible. <br />6. Water trucks or sprinklers shall be used in sufficient quantities to keep <br />exposed soil surfaces damp enough to prevent dust. Watering should <br />increase frequency when the wind speed exceeds 15 miles per hour <br />(mph). <br />7. Pave, apply water three (3) times daily, or apply non -toxic soil <br />stabilizers on all unpaved access roads, parking areas, and staging <br />areas at construction sites. <br />8. Sweep daily (with water sweepers) all paved access roads, parking <br />areas, and staging areas at construction sites. <br />9. Sweep street daily if visible soil materials is carried onto adjacent <br />public streets. <br />10.Any dust production materials shall be covered while being hauled. <br />When necessary, loads shall also be watered down to reduce dust. <br />11. The contractor shall designate a person or persons to monitor the <br />emission control program and to order increased watering, as <br />necessary, to prevent transport of dust. <br />12. Replant vegetation in disturbed areas as quickly as possible. <br />13. Install sandbags or other erosion control measures to prevent silt <br />runoff to public roadways. <br />14. Limit traffic speeds on unpaved roads to 15 miles per hour (mph). <br />15. Enclose, cover, water twice daily or apply (non- toxic) soil binders to <br />exposed stockpiles (dirt, sand, etc.). <br />16. Hydroseed or apply (non- toxic) soil stabilizers to inactive construction <br />areas (previously graded areas inactive for 10 days or more) <br />BIOLOGICAL RESOURCES <br />17. Construction activities shall be limited to daytime work hours, and <br />construction equipment shall be properly muffled and maintained. <br />CULTURAL RESOURCES <br />18. If any human remains and /or artifacts are found during excavation or <br />site preparation, construction activities shall be halted immediately and <br />the Coroner and a professional archaeologist shall be consulted to <br />evaluate the significance of the find. If the remains are Native <br />American, the Native American Heritage Commission shall be notified. <br />2 <br />
