<br />national origin, ancestry, sex, age, physical or mental disability,
<br />marital status, sexual preference, or political affiliation. The
<br />Participating Owner agrees to take affirmative action to ensure
<br />that appli -rants are employed, and that empl , 3yees are treated during
<br />employment, without regard to their race, religion, color, national
<br />origin, ancestry, sex, age, physical or mental disability, marital
<br />status, sexual preference, or political affiliation. Such action
<br />shall include, but not be limited to the following: employment,
<br />upgrading, demotion or transfers; recruitment or recruitment
<br />advertising; layoff or termination; rates of pay or other forms of
<br />compensation; and selection for training, including apprenticeship.
<br />The Participating Owner agrees to post in conspicuous places,
<br />available to employees and applicants for employment, notices to be
<br />provided by the City of Redwood City setting forth the provisions
<br />of this Fair Employment Practices section.
<br />(2) The Participating Owner agrees to permit access to
<br />his records of employment, employment advertisements, application
<br />forms, and other pertinent data and records by the State Fair
<br />Employment Practices Commission, or any other agency of the State
<br />of California designated by the awarding authority, for the
<br />purposes of investigation to ascertain compliance with the Fair
<br />Employment Practices section of this contract.
<br />d. Nondiscrimination Based on Disability. The
<br />Participating Owner hereby agrees that it will comply with the
<br />provisions of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act Of 1973, as
<br />amended, providing equal access and reasonable accommodations in
<br />employment programs and services to persons who are disabled. To
<br />that end, certain units within the Project shall be constructed to
<br />comply with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as set
<br />-orth in the Scope of Development.
<br />e. Interest of Public Officials. No members, officers,
<br />employees, or agents of the City of Redwood City, no member of the
<br />City Council and no other public official who exercises any
<br />`unction or responsibility with respect to this Agreement or
<br />Participating Owner's Program during his or his tenure, or for one
<br />year thereafter, shall have any interest, direct or indirect, in
<br />this contract or a related subcontract, or the proceeds thereof.
<br />The Participating Owner shall incorporate in all subcontracts
<br />hereunder a provision prohibiting such interest.
