(903) <br /> Recommendation: <br /> Approve by resolution the classification of Downtown Business Development <br /> Specialist. <br /> RESOLUTION No. 15072 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> AMENDING THE CITY'S CLASSIFICATION PLAN <br /> 6.3 Section — Claims and Checks <br /> A. Approve checks dated December 21, 2010 and the usual and necessary <br /> payments through January 10, 2011. (303) MINUTE ORDER 10-239 <br /> 7. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> A. Hold Public Hearing Regarding General Vacation of Public Right-of-Way — <br /> Chemical Way. (606) <br /> Ms. Thompson, City Attorney, reported on the items related to Chemical Way. She said <br /> the first item was about the tentative proposed alternate site for the jail outside of the <br /> downtown area. Ms. Thompson reported that City Council met in Closed Session <br /> regarding modifications to the terms for the assignment of the properties at 20, 50, 70 and <br /> 80 Chemical Way. She reported that City Council was in favor of the amendments, which <br /> included the contribution of funding to the County and to have the City Manager execute <br /> the amended MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) and have it brought back to Council <br /> in January for ratification. Motion carried 6-0 with Vice Mayor Aguirre absent by <br /> unanimous voice vote. She said the other item pertained to the conveyance of property <br /> and vacation of certain properties, as conditions contained in the MOU with the County for <br /> the property acquisition. Ms. Thompson reported that the Board of Supervisors voted <br /> today to move forward with the assignment and acquisition of the properties. <br /> Ms Thompson said the vacation of Chemical Way was a condition of the MOU, which the <br /> City had agreed to do subject to certain conditions by the County. She reviewed the <br /> vacating process and what City staff has done as was approved by City Council from <br /> October 2010. She recommended that if Council does approve the vacation of public <br /> right-of-way, and following public comment, that the City Manager be given the authority to <br /> sign any documents, subject to City Attorney review, that would be necessary to effectuate <br /> the vacation process of Chemical Way. <br /> Mayor Ira opened the Public Hearing. There was no public comment. <br /> There was no Council discussion. <br /> M/S Foust/Bain to close the public hearing.
