Task 2: Workshop #1 - "General Plan Issues Overview." Initial themes for workshops are <br />suggested below; them es would be revised and finalized with City staff and/or the community <br />during the course of the work process. It is assumed that the first workshop will provide an <br />overview of the General Plan update procedure and solicit community input on basic themes for <br />subsequent workshops. <br /> <br />a) Coordinate Workshop Materials with City Staff- Materials could include handouts, maps, <br /> survey/worksheets, etc. Sources could include City or other agency, or be prepared by BDP as <br /> needed. <br /> <br />b) Compile/Prepare Maps, Graphics - Per a), above. <br /> <br />c) Prepare PowerPoint/Presentation - Incorporate photographs, diagrams, and other materials to <br /> illustrate workshop theme, issues, and comparable conditions as appropriate. <br /> <br />d) Attend/Facilitate Workshop - Assist City staff to review the General Plan Update process, the City's <br /> objectives for the visioning process, and the initial workshop themes. Use a PowerPoint/slide <br /> presentation to review conditions an d/or different geographic areas of the city, and facilitate <br /> discussion of community concerns, likes and dislikes, etc. Record corn ments. <br /> <br />e) Transcribe/Sort Comments- Transcribe and sort community comments according to subject areas <br /> as appropriate. Submit to City staff in digital format. <br /> <br />Task 3: Workshop #Z - "Neighborhoods." Services per Task 2, above. <br /> <br /> Task 4: Workshop #3 - "Commercial Areas." Services per Task 2, above. <br /> <br /> Task 5: Workshop #4 - "Major Streets and Corridors." Services per Task 2, above. <br /> <br /> Task 6: Workshop #5 - "Open Space/Special Areas" Services per Task 2, above. <br /> <br /> Task 7: Planning Commission / City Council Study Session. Assist staff to review the visioning <br /> process, summarize directions or trends that emerged, and likely implications for General Plan <br /> Update policies. Respond to PC/CC questions and comments as needed. Record comments. <br /> <br /> Task 8: Staff Coordination Meetings (4). Up to four staff meetings are budgeted for workshop <br /> planning/debriefing. <br /> <br /> Task 9: Summary Visioning Report/Memorandum. Prepare text memo summarizing the visioning <br /> process, the content and input from each workshop, and basic policy preferences and trends that <br /> have emerged. <br /> <br />a) Compile/Format graphics, photos - Incorporate graphic materials prepared during the course of the <br /> process, and transcribed community comments. <br /> <br />b) Prepare Summary Text <br /> <br />c) Submit/Revise/Resubmit - As directed by City staff. <br /> <br /> -2- <br /> <br /> <br />
