Chapter 5.Significant Irreversibl7.B. - Page 123
Redwood City Changes
• Implementation of the original project would change on-site drainage patterns;however, the
amount of impervious surface did not change.Stormwater would continue to be collected and
conveyed via the City's storm drain system.Stormwater pollutant control measures would
reduce soil erosion and the potential for pollutants to enter runoff during construction and
operation of the project. The proposed modifications would remove approximately 5,004 square
feet of pervious space but stormwater treatment requirements of the existing NPDES Permit
Condition C3 would control impacts on drainage and water quality to a less than significant
level.
• The demand for public services (for the original project and the proposed modifications)would
be served by current facilities and staffing of public service agencies. Payment of development
impact fees would allow school services to provide adequate services.Annual review of service
levels for fire and police services would ensure acceptable service levels are maintained.
• The project(and the proposed modifications)would not result in a change of land use on the
site. Changes in the visual quality of the site would occur. These changes would be permanent,as
long as the proposed structures are in use but are not considered significant and adverse.
Based on the analyses in the 2007 FEIR and Section 4.0,Environmental Impact Analysis of this
Addendum No. 2,potential environmental effects can be reduced to below levels of significance with
the implementation of standard conditions and recommended mitigation measures. The conclusions
described in Section 5 of the 2007 FEIR remain the same with implementation of the proposed
modifications described in this Addendum No. 2.
Addendum No.2 to the Environmental Impact Report for September 2012
the Redwood City Costco Wholesale Project 5-Z ICF 00154.12
