(Additional documentation is provided in Appendix C.) Based on the updated excess
cancer risks, project-level health risk impacts associated with operation of the proposed 20-
position GDF would be less than significant.
Table 15. To evaluate cumulative health risks, the Bay Area AQMD recommends
that health risks associated with the project be combined with health risks from the following
sources located within 1,000 feet from a proposed project: other stationary sources permitted
by the District that emit toxic air contaminants (TACs); freeways, highways, and major roadways
with annual daily traffic of 10,000 or more; rail yards; and additional approved or proposed
projects emitting TACs. Table 16 summarizes the cumulative risks associated with the
proposed Costco Wholesale Redwood City GDF. (Additional documentation is provided in
Appendix C.) As shown in Table 16, cumulative health risk impacts associated with operation of
the proposed 20-position GDF would be less than significant.
9 Note that non-cancer risks are not adjusted to incorporate the ASFs for excess cancer risks.
7/30/2012
