Proposed Costco Wholesale Redwood City GDF Expansion 7.A. - Page 158
Air Quality/Climate Change Analysis
Page 24
Table 16. Values may not sum to total due to rounding.)
Global Climate Change.
The impact of the Costco Wholesale Redwood City GDF on GHGs and global climate change
was not evaluated in the 2007 Certified EIR. Therefore, rather than comparing the proposed
20-position GDF to the 16-position facility evaluated in the 2007 Certified EIR, this section
evaluates the impacts of the proposed project compared to the existing 12-position GDF.
Greenhouse gas emissions are expected to result from fuel combustion associated with vehicle
trips, vehicle queuing, and gasoline delivery trucks.
Operation of the proposed expanded Costco Wholesale Redwood City GDF is expected to
result in slightly greater new daily trips as compared to the existing GDF. The proposed 20-
position GDF is expected to result in 750 net new weekday trips, while the existing 12-position
GDF is estimated to be responsible for 730 net new weekly trips. As a result, GHG emissions
associated with vehicle trips are expected to be less than five percent greater than GHG
emissions associated with existing 12-position GDF vehicle trips. At the request of City of
7/30/2012
