1.08 PARTIAL ACCEPTANCE AND OCCUPANCY <br /> A. Partial acceptance of completed work may be considered at the discretion of the Engineer. <br /> B. The City shall have the right to occupy and use in any manner any or ail portions of compieted <br /> work which has been accepted. <br /> 1.09 FINAL INSPECTION <br /> A. At least four (4) working days notice shall be given to the Engineer that the project is ready for <br /> final inspection, that the Contractor has carefully inspected all portions of the work and that all <br /> conditions of the Contract Section have been fulfilled. <br /> B. Upon acceptance of notice that the work is ready for final inspection, the Engineer together with <br /> the Contractor, shall promptly make a joint inspection of the work and note deficiencies, if any. <br /> If there are no deficiencies, or when noted deficiencies, have been corrected and Engineer finds <br /> the work acceptable then the Contract is fully performed. <br /> 1.10 WATER CONSERVATION <br /> A. Nothing in this section "Water Conservation" shall be construed as relieving the Contractor from <br /> furnishing an adequate supply of water required for the proper construction of this project in <br /> accordance with the Specifications of these special provisions or relieving the Contractor from <br /> the legal responsibilities. <br /> B. The Water Shortage Emergency Ordinance, adopted by the City of Redwood City on July 1, <br /> 1990, prohibits or restricts water for construction purposes. However, the use of domestic <br /> water in construction projects for backfill consolidation or compaction, or for dust control <br /> purposes is allowed under the current conditions. <br /> C. The Contractor shall, whenever possible and not in conflict with the above requirements, <br /> minimize the use of water during construction of the project. Watering equipment shall be kept <br /> in good working order; water leaks shall be repaired promptly; and washing of equipment, <br /> except when necessary for safety or for the protection of equipment, shall be discouraged. <br /> D. When ordered by the Engineer, a dust palliative conforming to the provisions of Section 18, <br /> "Dust Palliative", of the Standard Specifications shall be used to control dust on this project. No <br /> additional compensation will be allowed for the use of dust palliatives. <br /> 1.11 USE OF WATER <br /> A. Nothing in this section shall be construed as relieving the Contractor from furnishing an <br /> adequate supply of water required for the proper construction of this project in accordance with <br /> the Specifications of these special provisions or relieving the Contractor from the legal <br /> responsibilities. <br /> B. All water used in conjunction with the project improvements shall be metered and paid for by the <br /> Contractor. <br /> 1. Contractor shall pay an $800 deposit to Cash Collections at City Hall, 1017 Middlefield <br /> Road for the construction meter. <br /> 2. The receipt of payment shall be taken to the Public Works Services Department, 1400 <br /> Broadway to pick up the water meter. <br /> 1.12 ORDER OF WORK <br /> A. The contractor's schedule shall indicate the order of his work and the time period required in <br /> each area. <br /> SPECIAL CONDITIONS 00800-2 <br /> EAST BAYSHRORE ROAD STREET LIGHTING PROJECT <br />
