1.13 DAMAGE <br /> A. Damage to existing structures, facilities, utilities, trees, lawns, shrubs, pavements, or other <br /> property caused by the Contractor shall be restored to originai condition at the Contractor's <br /> expense, prior to final inspection and acceptance. <br /> 1.14 STAGING AREA, USE OF CITY STREETS, EMPLOYEE PARKING <br /> A. Material storage shali be limited at the construction site to what is needed for two days <br /> construction. <br /> B. Contractor shall be responsibie for making his own arrangements, for storing excess material <br /> and equipment at an approved storage yard off the City streets. <br /> C. Construction equipment may be stored on the street, but must be moved every two days (48 <br /> hours) as construction progresses. <br /> D. No construction material shall be stored over the weekend unless approved by the project <br /> engineer. <br /> E. Sheds or storage containers may be left on the street in one location for no longer than one <br /> month. The engineer shall approve the location(s) for storage. <br /> F. Storage containers and sanitary facilities shall not have graffiti and shali be painted in subdued <br /> colors. <br /> G. Reflectors and/or barricades shall be required for all equipment and material left on the street <br /> overnight. <br /> H. At the end of the working week, all loose material, parts, and debris must be cleaned up and <br /> discarded. <br /> I. Employee parking should be at or near the daily construction area. <br /> 1.15 STORM WATER POLLUTION PREVENTION <br /> A. The contractor is advised that the City of Redwood City and all other municipal stormwater <br /> dischargers in San Mateo County are co-permittees under the National Pollutant Discharge <br /> Elimination System (NPDES) Permit Number CA 0029921. This permit prohibits the discharge <br /> of illicit discharges (non rainwater) into the storm drain system, unless specifically exempt. As a <br /> condition of this permit the City of Redwood City and San Mateo County have implemented a <br /> local Storm Water Management Plan, adopted respective enabling ordinances prohibiting illicit <br /> discharges, and adopted "Best Management Practices" (BMPs) to assist contractors and <br /> citizens with alternatives. <br /> B. The central goal of the Storm Water Management Plan and BMPs is to reduce the amount of <br /> pollution in run-off and establish procedures to address and control storm water pollution <br /> resulting from both public and private sector construction activity within the City. <br /> C. All work performed under this contract and all contractors and their associates and/or <br /> employees, are required to comply with all applicable Storm Water regulations and to implement <br /> BMPs at all times. <br /> D. Refer to Section 02133 (Stormwater Pollution Prevention) for more particulars on how to <br /> address pollution issues. <br /> SPECIAL CONDITIONS 00800-3 <br /> EAST BAYSHRORE ROAD STREET LIGHTING PROJECT <br />
