Councilman Bury concurred with judgment L, this group did not reflect a cross <br />section of opinion from Redwood City but felt "political climate" would have little <br />to do vaith decisions made by the Site Selection Committee. Councilman Weymouth asked <br />vrhether membership list of organization /,.?as available. <br />Mr. Travers stated he aould not speak for organization or <br />Board, but believed number of members could be submitted. <br />Councilman Royer asked if 'Ar. Travers objected to Council action and intention, and <br />was advised by Mr. Travers he understood. City tvllanager advised Council he had <br />requested a list of membership from this Association and had also recuested information <br />on the number of those present at the meeting vihere their action v.,as passed on this <br />matter. Councilman Bury felt there was no value in pursuing action on this matter. <br />Councilman Herkner approved counter -action by letter to State College Board indica- <br />ting recommendations in letter from this association, in Council's opinion do not <br />reflect that of majority of citizens of Redvrood City. Mayor Rosselli felt point <br />yell taken by Councilman Petersen and matter should be pursued as indicated. <br />Motion by Councilman Petersen re -read stating Council direct Staff to write letter <br />to State College Board indicating number of members of Redwood City Civic :association; <br />that this Association does not reflect the views of the majority of the citizens <br />of Redwood City, carried on roll call vote, Councilman Bury voting no. <br />(P<IITNTE ORDER ; 66-45j Copies of letters requested for Mr. Elkus and Mr. Travers. <br />Mayor Rosselli asked that Vice -Mayor Royer take the chair in order he might take action <br />on resolution commemorating a fellow pharmacist and outstanding citizen of our <br />coiilmunity. Vice -Mayor Royer assumed the chair. Mayor Rosselli moved to adjourn <br />meeting by adopting RESOLUTION NO. 4919 CO1vUEMOrU,TING THE MEMORY OF CHARLES BATRD, <br />seconded by Councilman Iier'ccner and carried. M. by Mayor Rosselli. <br />Mayor reported Councilman Herkner would not be present because of illness. <br />Mayor 13ossc-�11i stated he had been questioned concerning newspaper statements made by <br />John T. Knox, Chairman, State Assembly Committee on Municipal and County Government, <br />In answer to request of Redwood City Civic "Issociation for investigation of proposed <br />District Assessor for. Redwood Shores. City Manager reported on letter he had .received <br />from 111r. Knox since forwarding him full Feasibility .Report, and his belief Mr. Knox <br />would have answers to hi.s satisfaction after a revievi of the full report. <br />City Pfianager reviewed schedule for full official. presentation of Feasibility Report <br />and Recommendati.on of Redwood Shores to be made at the legislative meeting, together <br />�th a presentation of summary and recommendation of School Study by Dr. James. City <br />N.na.ger stated presentation vias being made by Dr. James as a courtesy to Council. <br />
