Mayor Rosselli asked whether the one more scheduled public information clinic was <br />thought to be sufficient before action on Feasibility Report expected by Council on <br />February 28th. City Manager reported it was judged to be sufficient as those now <br />attending clinics were mainly repeating attendances. <br />Mayor Rosselli questioned whether report and recommendation concerning Bay -Front <br />Committee Report had been reviewed by Planning Commission and ready for Council <br />action. Councilman Royer reviewed one point he ,-.ished to emphasized and directed <br />Council's attention to communication they had previously received from Committee <br />for Green Foothills urging report be accepted, which stated his recommendations <br />with the exception that a proposed Bay Front Freeway be removed from existing <br />maps, and explained his reasoning. Action deferred to regular meeting. <br />Councilman Petersen asked that Task Force Committee report be placed on Council <br />Agenda of February 28th. (Memo 2/23/66) <br />City attorney introduced David Schricker, new Deputy City Attorney. <br />Discussion and questioning by Council on proposed ordinances for soil reports in pro- <br />posed subdivisions, and community antenna television systems. Councilman Royer <br />expressed concern on practicability of enforcement on soils report ordinance. <br />City Attorney advised proposed ordinance almost identical to requirements now <br />set by State law. City Attorney also stated need for whole of Subdivision Ordi- <br />nance to be reorganized but of the immediate requirement this amendment be adopted <br />prior to time revised Subdivision Ordinance ready for Council's consideration. <br />Council was also advised "CATV" ordinance had been agreed to by PTT, PGE, and <br />discussed with San Francisco 49ers relative to their game broadcasts. Councilman <br />Bury questioned effect of any future rulings which might be made by PUC and FCC. <br />City Attorney agreed later amendments to City's proposed ordinance might be <br />necessary, but stated ordinance now proposed mainly concerned with use of City <br />property and fees to be derived therefrom. <br />Discussion held on request for sidewalk variance by H & E Food Corporation and Staff <br />recommendation this be granted by Revocable Permit to provide landscaping. <br />Councilman Bury questioned plans proposed for Claremont -E1 Camino island and suggested <br />possibility of another inter -service club sign similar to that now at Chestnut <br />and E1 Camino island. Council discussed possibility of this proposal blocking <br />view of existing businesses. <br />Councilman Petersen questioned type of landscaping proposed and its effect on Park <br />Department budget. City Manager described low shrubbery proposed and provision <br />to be made for a sprinkler system. <br />Mayor Rosselli questioned recent claim against the City concerning damages by a tree <br />on Dr. Tsauer's property on Alameda, and report received by Staff concerning their <br />proposed plans. Auditor -Accountant reported on information he had received from <br />Insurance Company that Dr. Tsauer requested tree be removed, and of his referral of <br />this information to Manager, Engineer, and Park Department. Mayor Rosselli asked <br />City Manager to check on this matter. (Memo 2/23/66) <br />
