_ _. � .._ _�....� _ � �� <br /> Purchasing Ordinance recognizes that in certain situations, alternative <br /> procedures may be warranted. <br /> The City Manager is authorized to enter into contracts of$60,000 or less, without <br /> public advertisements, as noted in Sec. 2.77 of the Municipal Code: <br /> Sec. 2.77. - PROCEDURE FOR CONTRACTS OF SIXTY THOUSAND <br /> DOLLARS OR LESS FOR MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT, SUPPLIES OR <br /> PERSONAL SERVICES: <br /> The City Manager may, without public advertisement or observing the procedures <br /> prescribed herein for the awarding of written contracts, may enter into all contracts <br /> for: <br /> A. <br /> All purchases of materials, equipment or supplies for sixty thousand <br /> dollars ($60,000) or less, exclusive of sales tax and freight; or <br /> B. <br /> All personal service agreements for sixty thousand dollars ($60,000) <br /> or less. <br /> The City Manager may, if necessary funds to provide for the material, <br /> equipment or supplies required have been appropriated, <br /> issue and execute purchase orders therefore specifying the <br /> quantity, type and price of materials, equipment or supplies to <br /> be obtained and the terms and conditions of purchase, <br /> perFormance and delivery. <br /> Over the next several years of planned intense development, staff anticipates the <br /> need for technology to track available parking spaces and to provide that <br /> information to the public in real time. Having a single source of parking <br /> information and data is important to help the City manage, analyze, and <br /> communicate parking information. <br /> The Streetline application is used by San Mateo, San Carlos, Los Angeles, and <br /> other cities throughout the United States. The technology can be linked to the <br /> City's planned PublicStuff application, so citizens can easily access parking <br /> information from a single application site (PublicStuff is a digital communications <br /> system to improve access to city services). Businesses can also add the link to <br /> their websites to provide current parking information to their customers. At least <br /> one Redwood City business has already done this with the pilot program. <br /> 2 <br />
