ITEM 6-RED MORTON CENTER PROJECT REVIEW <br /> Superintendent Hartrnan said the Red Morton Committee met on December <br /> 6 and the architect proposed lots of ideas and suggestions to include art into <br /> the new center. As of this point, there have been no funds allocated for art at <br /> the new Red Morton Center. She announced the next committee meeting <br /> will be held January 13 at l0am at the CAB and invited all Commissioners to <br /> attend. <br /> Commissioner Piulle reminded the Commissioners that she had previously <br /> contacted artist Dale Perkins who has incorporated childrens' art into public <br /> buildings. She said he would be able to come to our February meeting to <br /> share his ideas and present a slide show. <br /> M/S Piulle/Moran: To send a letter to the City Council to request funding for <br /> art for new City building construction. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> ITEM 7- SEQUOIA STATION ART UPDATE <br /> Commissioners Distefano and Fischer hope to meet before the February <br /> meeting. This matter will be placed on the February agenda. <br /> ROUNDTABLE <br /> -Commissioner Piulle asked that a review of the Fox Theater Task Force <br /> report to the City Council be placed on the February agenda. This matter will <br /> be presented to the City Council at their February 14 meeting. <br /> -Commissioner Piulle gave Superintendent Hartman the address of Al <br /> Amorino of the Fruitvale Playhouse in Oakland to send a previously <br /> approved letter from the Commission regarding the recent vandalization of <br /> the structure. <br /> -Commissioner Moran noted that Lathrop House Christmas Open House was <br /> bigger than ever and well attended. <br /> -Commissioner Filippi acknowledged that Commissioner Piulle, Henry Use <br /> and Elena Mori will be receiving San Mateo County Arts Council Arts Star <br /> Awards on February 16 at the Villa Hotel. Commissioner Piulle and Mr. Use <br /> will be honored with 1994 Council of Excellence awards and Ms. Mori will be <br /> receiving the outstanding arts in education award. <br />
