Commissioner Fischer felt the rent money should only be given for three <br /> months with the stipulation that they return to see what kind of grants the <br /> group has pursued in the meantime. <br /> Motion passed. (yes-5, no-2) <br /> The following items were taken out of order: <br /> ITEM 5- SUMMER CONCERT PROGRAM <br /> Chairperson Filippi said last year it was suggested placing collection bins for <br /> food and clothing at several of our summer concerts. Fair Oaks Center <br /> Advisory Board Chairperson Bonnie Miller spoke about the collection efforts <br /> at the Center and the persons who come to the Center daily for food and <br /> clothing. Center Coordinator Magda Gonzalez said the Fair Oaks Center <br /> works with several agencies to assist people who come to the Center and the <br /> only qualification is that they must be Redwood City residents or live in the <br /> North Fair Oaks area. She said that they have bins available which could be <br /> brought to a concert and returned to the Center with the donated items. The <br /> Commissioners discussed this matter and decided to place the donation bins <br /> at our first two concerts at Stafford Park on June 16 and 21. Commissioner <br /> Fischer suggested putting the information about the donation bins on our <br /> concert flyers. <br /> M/S Redington/Fischer: To begin a pilot program to collect canned food <br /> at the first two Summer concerts at Stafford Park. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> ITEM 4 - CULTURAL PLAN - BETTY MORAN <br /> Commissioner Moran spoke about developing a cultural plan in conjunction <br /> with the Commission's Cultural Element. She will chair a committee to <br /> work on the Cultural Plan with Commissioners Distefano and Fischer. <br /> ITEM 6 - POLICE DEPARTMENT ART <br /> Commissioner Fischer reported that she and Commissioner Piulle will be <br /> meeting with Captain Granucci on Monday, March 7 to define the process for <br /> selecting the art work. She will report back to the Commission next meeting. <br /> ITEM 7- SEQUOIA STATION ART <br /> Commissioner Fischer said she spoke with Redevelopment Director Mike <br /> Church regarding art for the Sequoia Station and possible location sites. He <br /> explained that $160,000 in unexpended funds on the Sequoia Station project <br /> remain but that it may go for other aspects of the project, although there may <br />
