ITEM 10-UPDATE ON EXISTING PROGRAMS . <br /> -Fox Programs <br /> Superintendent Hartman said she spoke with Corinne Centeno who <br /> indicated that the staff report was approved by City Council on February 28 <br /> and the Fox Theater sub-committee report will be presented at the March 14 <br /> City Council meeting. She suggested that if the Commissioners had any <br /> questions or concerns regarding the funding of the $30,000 that they should <br /> contact members of the City Council. <br /> -Art Contest <br /> Supervisor Hannon reported that all the contest forms have been delivered <br /> to the schools and she has begun receiving entries from students. She asked <br /> the Commissioners to contact her if they were interested in helping with the <br /> preliminary judging. <br /> Supervisor Hannon said she has found a "flexible banner" which could be <br /> purchased for use at our concerts and other events at a cost of $295.00. The <br /> banner is 2 feet wide by 10 feet long. Commissioner Piulle suggested using <br /> the John Raitt Concert money to purchase the banner. This matter will be <br /> placed on the April agenda. <br /> MATTERS OF COMMISSION INTEREST <br /> -Commissioner Moran said the Lathrop House will hold a lunch honoring <br /> their volunteers on March 4. She said she attended the Citizen of the Year <br /> Dinner on February 27. <br /> -Commissioner Ball attended the Joe Marchi American Musical series at the <br /> Library and said she really enjoyed it. She said she would really like to see the <br /> Commission plan a joint event with Joe Marchi and she agreed to contact Mr. <br /> Marchi regarding this suggestion. This matter will be placed on the April <br /> agenda. <br /> -Commissioner Fischer said she is looking forward to the performing arts <br /> presentation at Kennedy Middle School on March 4. <br /> -Commissioner Piulle thanked the Commissioners for coming to the Arts <br /> Star Awards luncheon. She said she spoke with a member of the Peninsula <br /> Community Foundation regarding their grant process and the possibility of <br /> the Commission obtaining a grant. She mentioned the piece of Chinese art <br /> donated by Gladys Woodhams has been moved to a permanent location at <br /> Canada College. She asked if the Cultural Commission could recommend to <br /> the Planning Commission that murals in Redwood City must have subdued <br /> colors. This matter will be placed on the April agenda. <br />
