; <br /> w <br /> -Program with Joe Marchi (Commissioner Ball) <br /> Commissioner Ball said she spoke with Joe Marchi and he said he would be <br /> happy to work with the Commission and provided the names of several <br /> entertainment groups who could perform. The groups were: "Music in <br /> Time"-available for Fall 1994; Westla & Michael Winfield, cabaret singers- <br /> available June, July, August; he will write to Michael Feinstein to see if he <br /> could perform; and American Music Society from Marin who are interested <br /> in coming to the Peninsula. <br /> -Art Center (Commissioner Moran) <br /> Superintendent Hartman said this matter was not discussed at the last board <br /> meeting of the Art Center. <br /> -Concert at Pete's Harbor (Chairperson Filippi) <br /> Chairperson Filippi said Pete's Harbor is contemplating having a "50's Day on <br /> the Green" and he gave a grant application to Ginny Pestoni. <br /> -Programs Downtown (Commissioner Distefano) <br /> It was reported that the downtown merchants are not ready to have any <br /> events at this time. <br /> -Purchase of Banners <br /> Supexvisor Hannon reported that a banner 2' wide by 10' long will cost <br /> $295.00 and also reported on different banner styles available and their costs. <br /> She spoke about the need to purchase new staging to be used for our concerts. <br /> Cost of the staging would be $250.00 per section. Chairperson Filippi said he <br /> would research the cost of a smaller size permanent banner for the <br /> Commission and report back. <br /> M/S Piulle/Redington: To purchase a 2' by 10' size banner for $295.00 <br /> to advertise Cultural Commission programs. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> -Families Arts Day <br /> Supervisor Hannon said she met with the Art Council regarding this <br /> program and it was determined that $700.00 in funding was needed. <br /> M/S Redington/Fischer: To allocate $700.00 for Families Arts Day. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> -Sequoia Art Group <br /> M/S Redington/Ball: To allocate $200.00 to the Sequoia Art Group. <br /> Motion passed (Commissioner Piulle abstained due to conflict of interest). <br /> Commissioner Piulle said the Sequoia Art Group would like one of the <br /> Commissioners to attend the awards ceremony on May 15 at 3:OOpm and <br />
