Chairperson Filippi said he felt a letter should be sent to the family <br /> of the deceased. Supervisor Hannon said staff would check with the City <br /> Clerk's Office to determine what procedure the City Council follows and will <br /> report back to the Commission. <br /> ITEM 13- SAN MATEO COUNTY ARTSHARE PROGRAM <br /> Commissioner Piulle said she and Councilwoman Georgi LaBerge were <br /> invited to attend the "Artshare Program" meeting sponsored by the San <br /> Mateo County Arts Council. "Artshare" is a program to try and establish an <br /> art commission in each city in the County. Commissioner Piulle said she <br /> explained the history of Redwood City's Cultural Commission, our budget, <br /> and programs to those attending the meeting. One suggestion was to have art <br /> monies collected by various cities be distributed equally County-wide. <br /> M/S Ball/Redington: To continue the meeting for 20 more minutes. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> The Commissioners referred back to Item 3-Pied Piper Theater Grant Request: <br /> Commissioner Piulle said she felt Cultural Commission grants are for <br /> performances rather than ongoing expenses such as rent. Commissioner <br /> Fischer said she is not supportive of a rent subsidy without supervision of <br /> those funds. Chairperson Filippi said he wants to see written documentation <br /> from the Planning Division regarding the use of a building in the downtown <br /> area for a purpose other than retail as it is in conflict with current zoning <br /> requirements. <br /> M/S Moran/Ball: To reject the grant proposal of a rent subsidy for the Pied <br /> Piper Theater but suggest that Mr. Liebert submit a <br /> different proposal for funding for specific performance <br /> related items. <br /> Motion passed. <br />
