M/S Piulle/Moran: To accept the list of suggested members of the <br /> Carrington Hall committee and grant whatever <br /> amendments they need to make for alternate <br /> members. � <br /> Motion passed. <br /> Superintendent Hartman suggested having the sub-committee meet to <br /> develop an outline for the public meeting and bring it back to the <br /> Commission for approval. Chairperson Filippi and Superintendent Hartxnan <br /> will schedule a meeting with the City Attomey to discuss the Brown Act and <br /> how it pertains to the Carrington Hall committee. <br /> ITEM 4-PUBLIC ART UPDATE <br /> -Police Department <br /> Commissioner Piulle reported that they are currently working out details of <br /> the contract with the artist. <br /> -Sequoia Station Art <br /> Commissioner Distefano received a letter from Dave Irmer thanking she and <br /> Commissioner Ball for the recent business lunch. She mentioned that Mr. <br /> Irmer was very interested in art for the Sequoia Station and proposed a mural <br /> for the back wall of the facility but is waiting for more suggestions from the <br /> Commission. Commissioner Distefano suggested a meeting with Mike <br /> Church and a representative from Safeway. Commissioner Piulle <br /> volunteered to obtain a list of mural artists from the San Mateo County Arts <br /> Council. <br /> M/S Distefano/Moran: To have Commissioner Piulle obtain a list of <br /> potential artists to present to Dave Irmer at a <br /> future meeting. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> Commissioner Distefano will let Mr. Irmer know what action the <br /> Commission is taking on this matter. <br /> -Red Morton Center <br /> Superintendent Hartman reported that Park and Recreation Commissioner <br /> Don Davis made a report to the City Council regarding that Commission's <br /> fund raising plans. The Park and Recreation Commission has decided to <br /> devote their August 24 meeting to the fund raising issue and invited the <br /> Cultural Commission to attend the meeting. Their goal is to raise $300,000 for <br /> needed items for the new Red Morton Center, including art work. A call for <br /> bids for the construction of the new facility has been issued and final bids are <br /> due August 17 at the City Clerk's Office. The Park and Recreation <br />
