M/S Piulle/Ball: To write a letter to Target Stores to thank them for sponsoring the event and having it in Redwood City. Motion passed. ITEM 7-JOINT STUDY SESSION WITH PARK&RECREATION COMMISSION FOLLOW-UP Superintendent Hartman reported that the Park and Recreation Commission voted at their July 27 meeting to have a joint meeting with the Cultural Commission. It was suggested that Chairpersons Susan Swope and Jeff Filippi meet with Superintendent Hartman to develop the agenda and the meeting date. ITEM 8-PROCEDURE FOR ADJOURNMENT IN MEMORY OF SOMEONE Chairperson Filippi discussed having a procedure similar to the City Council to adjourn a meeting in memory of someone. A sample document from the City Clerk's Office was given to the Commissioners for their review. The Com.missioners discussed the matter and felt that a letter signed by the Chairperson would be sufficient for this purpose. M/S Moran/Piulle: To approve the letter to be used by the Commission to adjourn in memory of someone and have it signed by the Chairperson. Motion passed. Commissioner Piulle requested that this evening's meeting be adjourned in memory of Kainos founder porothy Philbrick. M/S Ball/Distefano: To extend the meeting until 10:OOpm. Motion passed. ITEM 9-PORT COMMISSION Chairperson Filippi said he would like to have a small reception honoring the Port Commission before our September 1 meeting. The reception would be held from 7:00-7:30pm that evening with our regular meeting to follow. The Commissioners volunteered to bring refreshments. Chairperson Filippi is putting together a photo album from the summer concert series to present to the Port Commission at the reception in addition to certificates for each Port Commissioner. Chairperson Filippi and Commissioner Piulle will develop the final certificate and Commissioner Ball will compose a cover for the album.
