' - . <br /> � ,��' <br /> Chairperson Filippi requested that all correspondence from the public go to <br /> the Cultural Commission, c/o Carrington Hall Project, 1400 Roosevelt <br /> Avenue. All donations should be sent to the Alumni Association for the <br /> Carrington Hall account. He would like to have 100 informational packets <br /> prepared for people attending the meeting. <br /> M/S Redington/Ball: To approve what will be included in the public packet <br /> for the Carrington Hall meeting. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> Comnlissioner Distefano has already submitted an article to the Citywide <br /> Quarterly Newsletter regarding the meeting. Articles will also appear in the <br /> Sequoia Alumni Association and the Sequoia PTSA newsletters. A press <br /> release will also need to be sent and invitation letters sent to the City Council, <br /> all City commissions and boards, Dr. Ron Crates, Redwood City School ` <br /> District, Canada College Drama Department, Sequoia faculty, Interservice <br /> Coordinating Councii, Chamber of Commerce, Art Center Board, and local <br /> service organizations. Commissioner Piulle volunteered to place flyers in all <br /> three Library branches. Don Saye indicated that he would be available to <br /> assist with the project letters. <br /> M/S Piulle/Distefano: To formally invite Don Saye to assist with the <br /> Carrington Hall project letters/flyers. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> ITEM 5- SPEAKERS SERIES WITH JOE MARCHI <br /> Commissioner Ball has not spoken with Mr. Marchi but will try to reach him <br /> this week. This matter will be placed on the October agenda. <br /> ITEM 6- PUBLIC ART UPDATE <br /> -Police Department <br /> Commissioner Fischer reported the contract was finalized and signed and <br /> passed by the City Council. The next step is for a mock up to be done of the <br /> sculpture. <br /> -Sequoia Station <br /> Commissioner Fischer suggested that we need to make another contact with <br /> Dave Irmer. Commissioner Piulle contacted muralist Dave Harris regarding <br /> this matter and he will try to send some idea sketches. <br /> -Red Morton Center/Status on Fundraising <br /> Supervisor Hannon reported on the last Park and Recreation Commission <br /> meeting and mentioned they will be speaking with a consultant about <br /> fundraising ideas.
