Commissioner Piulle will be the Commission's representative <br /> and Commissioner Distefano will be the alternate. <br /> -City Hall <br /> Superintendent Hartman reported she spoke with Community Development <br /> Director Deborah Nelson twice regarding the Cultural Commission wanting <br /> to be involved in the City Hall process. She said she advised Planning <br /> Director Joel Patterson to notify Commissioner Piulle regarding meeting <br /> dates. Commissioner Distefano will be the representative and Commissioner <br /> Piulle will be the alternate. <br /> ITEM 7-MURAL REVIEW POLICY <br /> Commissioner Piulle said she contacted the cities of Palo Alto and San Mateo <br /> regarding their policy on murals. Leon Kaplan of Palo Alto stated their city <br /> does not have a written policy but there is an overview procedure and it does <br /> go through several committees. San Mateo has no written mural guidelines <br /> but it also goes through several groups for review. Commissioner Piulle <br /> suggested that we should have written mural guidelines and review the <br /> procedure. She volunteered to write the policy and Commissioner Ball <br /> volunteered to assist. This matter will be placed on the October agenda. <br /> ITEM 8 -FOX THEATER FUNDING <br /> Chairperson Filippi wanted to make sure that a representative from the <br /> Peninsula Center Stage would be attending the Fox Theater presentations on <br /> November 3. The Commissioners reviewed the presentation guidelines and <br /> question form. <br /> M/S Redington/Moran: To accept the presentation guidelines and question <br /> form. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> Don Saye said he felt that the community needs more types of quality <br /> entertainment like we have had this year. The pricing of the tickets needs to <br /> be considered and presented by the group and they should relate potential <br /> charges for their events to their audiences. <br /> ITEM 9-COMMISSION PROCEDURES <br /> The Commissioners discussed having Don Saye help with the creation of <br /> letters and to provide additional help to staff for Commission matters. <br /> Mr. Saye said he would be interested in assisting in any way. This matter will <br /> be placed on the October agenda. <br />
