-Pam Thornberg was contacted about having an event with the seniors <br /> through the Intergenerational program. <br /> -"Give a Little, Help a Lot" insert in the water bills for donations to the <br /> Cultural Commission. <br /> -Commissioners need to be more aggressive in marketing the Commission to <br /> the schools. <br /> -Start putting together a survey to compile data for Cultural Commission to <br /> present to City Council. <br /> -Have� a yearly calendar for the Commission available in department. <br /> -Joint meeting with Park and Recreation Commission to be held Wednesday, <br /> February 22. <br /> -Possible joint meetings with Architectural Review Committee, Senior <br /> Affairs Commission, Historic Resources Advisory Committee, Archives <br /> Committee. <br /> -A historical mural was painted at McKinley Middle School; suggested that <br /> Commissioners go look at the mural before January meeting. <br /> -Have Commission join Interservice Coordinating Council. <br /> ITEM 10 - PENINSULA SYMPHONY SUMMER CONCERT PROPOSAL <br /> Supervisor Hannon reported that the Peninsula Symphony is interested in <br /> performing in our summer concert series. They would require a stage for <br /> 80-90 musicians, a sound system, concert fee would be $2,500.00 and also <br /> would have to have parking capabilities for 80-90 musicians and 1,000-1,300 <br /> audience members. It was suggested using Sequoia High School's football <br /> field for the concert. The Commissioners discussed the matter and felt they <br /> could not afford the fee but asked to have the Peninsula Symphony contact us <br /> again next year. Commissioner Distefano asked if we could approach the Port <br /> Commission before turning down their offer. Supervisor Hannon said the <br /> Commission will be on the Port agenda on December 16. It was also suggested <br /> to perhaps split the funding with the group. <br /> ITEM 11 - EVALUATION OR DISCUSSION OF CULTURAL EVENTS HELD <br /> DURING THE PAST 30 DAYS <br /> Commissioner Ball commented on the Climate Best by Government Test <br /> sign dedication ceremony and felt it was a good piece of art work. <br />
