ITEM 3-REDWOOD CITY ART CENTER RELOCATION <br /> Commissioner Piulle reported she was at the City Council meeting where the <br /> Art Center received its grant request of $30,000.00 to assist in the renovation <br /> of their new facility. She noted that four months rent will be provided by the <br /> landlord free of charge although no lease has been signed yet. <br /> Chairperson Filippi said he wanted quarterly updates from the Art Center <br /> regarding activities held for students. He felt that any group given money by <br /> the City should be monitored to ensure adherance to their grant agreement <br /> and felt the Cultural Commission should be responsible for monitoring Art <br /> Center activities. <br /> M/S Ball/ : That once the Redwood City Art Center relocates that <br /> the Cultural Commission would request written <br /> updates on their activities. <br /> Motion died for lack of a second. <br /> The Commission receives a monthly newsletter from the Art Center as it is <br /> a paid member of the organization. Copies will be made of the newsletter <br /> each month and sent to the Commissioners for their review. Commissioner <br /> Redington requested a copy of the finalized City Council Report regarding the <br /> Art Center grant be sent to the Commissioners. Don Saye suggested the <br /> Cultural Commission provide a violinist to perform at the opening of the <br /> new Art Center. Art Center updates will remain as a constant agenda item. <br /> Superintendent Hartman announced a public hearing will be held on <br /> Thursday, January 19, 1995 from 7:00-9:OOpm at the Library Community Room <br /> to hear proposals on the Middlefield Road development. She noted the <br /> proposals will be made by two developers and that one of the proposals has <br /> an art center component. <br /> ITEM 4- CARRINGTON HALL UPDATE <br /> Commissioner Moran reported the Carrington Hall Committee has not met <br /> since November. They are trying to develop a survey to determine the best <br /> night for the committee members to meet. <br /> ITEM 6-PUBLIC BUILDINGS/PUBLIC ART PERCENTAGE <br /> Chairperson Filippi noted the Commission last sent a letter regarding this <br /> subject on April 14, 1994 to Mayor Buchan but no response was received and <br /> he asked the Commissioners if they should send a follow up letter to Tom <br /> Gilman, Chairperson of the Architectural Review Board regarding this same <br /> subject. <br />
