The Commissioners discussed the idea and decided not to proceed at this <br /> time. <br /> -Report from Ice Rink <br /> Chairperson Filippi said he met with the director of the Redwood City Ice <br /> Rink and brought them a funding packet. The director will be taking this <br /> packet to her Board and Chairperson Filippi will follow up on this matter. <br /> -Report from Redwood Shores <br /> Chairperson Filippi attended the December 15 meeting of the Redwood <br /> Shores Homeowners Association and gave them a funding packet. Shirley <br /> Girnler was appointed the group's liasion to the Cultural Commission. <br /> Chairperson Filippi said the membership indicated their desire to have <br /> weekend concerts in the Redwood Shores area. He spoke with Yvette <br /> Hayworth of Redwood Shores Properties about a funding packet and said he <br /> will be attending one of their future meetings. <br /> Commissioner Distefano reported she made a funding presentation to the <br /> Port Commission at their December 10 meeting. A meeting is supposed to be <br /> held with a representative of the City Council, Port Commission and Cultural <br /> Commission. Commissioner Distefano said the Port Commission was very <br /> supportive of our request. Commissioners Distefano and Fischer will be <br /> meeting on january 6 with Port Commissioner Jack Castle. <br /> Commissioner Filippi contacted Garfield School Principal Judy Daher and <br /> Pam Thornberg regarding developing an intergenerational program for <br /> students and seniors which would include music, visual arts and <br /> horticulture. He suggested having the Commission sponsor educators to <br /> teach these subjects to program participants. Mr. Pellegrini mentioned the <br /> Redwood City Seed Company produces and sells historical plant seeds which <br /> could be used for the program. <br /> M/S Distefano/Redington: That the Commission develop a plan that would <br /> incorporate the intergenerational program idea into a 3- <br /> fold program to include visual arts, performing arts and <br /> horticulture. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> This matter will be placed on the February agenda. <br /> ITEM 11 -JOINT MEETINGS WITH VARIOUS COMMISSIONS/BOARDS <br /> This matter was covered under Item 10. <br /> M/S Ball/Piulle: To extend the meeting until 10:OOpm. <br /> Motion passed. <br />
