ITEM 3 - KCSM PRESENTATION The speaker for this subject was not in attendance. ITEM 5 - MURAL GUIDELINES REVIEW The Commissioners received a copy of comments from the Architectural Advisory Committee (ACC) about the proposed guidelines from Charles Jany. The subcommittee will study the ACC's comments and make recommendations to the Commission at the November meeting. ITEM 6- �ULTURAL COMMISSION FUNDING GUIDELINES The Commissioners discussed the new funding guidelines, specifically items #4, #5, and #10. They made the following suggestions: that an official representative of the requesting organization be required to sign the funding application; that complimentary tickets to a funded event be provided to the Commissioners; and that a portion of the funds be used toward promotion of the event. M/S Saye/Fischer: To modify Item #7 of the Funding Guidelines to read: "The Civic Cultural Commission strongly suggests that the applicants promote their event to the best of their ability." Motion passed. M/S Filippi/Fischer: To add to Item #4 of the Funding Guide�ines "For example, copies of past financial statements from previous cultural events". Roll Call Vote taken: Saye-no, Ball-yes, Distefano-yes, Filippi-yes, Piulle-yes, Fischer-yes, Redington-yes Motion passed. (Yes-6, No-1) M/Filippi/Distefano: To accept funding guidelines for distribution with above motions for revision. (Yes-5, No-2) ITEM 4 -BALLET PROGRAM Rosine Bena discussed her grant request for a professional dance company in Redwood City and related some of the experiences she had with her dance company in Reno, Nevada. She also spoke about an upcoming "Perspective" ballet performance. Commissioner Fischer reported that she and Ms. Bena met with John Gill teacher Laura Baldini and the President of the John Gill PTA to discuss the proposed ballet program. Commissioner Filippi asked Ms. Bena to get him figures on the cost of providing a dance program at John Gill School and Ms. Fena said she would get the information to him.
