2.) Angle the meeting tables; place a separate table in the middle for the chairperson. 3.) Implement the 9:30pm meeting time; use motions to extend the meeting. 4.) Keep the discussion to the subject at hand. 5.) Allow time at the end of the meeting to discuss "Focus 95-96" and "Evaluation of Cultural Events Held During the Past 30 Days". 6.) Watch break time; limit to 5 minutes. 7.) Do your homework; if you can't get something done, call someone else to help. 8.) Develop criteria for Special Meetings. 9.) Start at one end of the meeting table and work down the table for each Commissioner to ask questions/make comments. 10.) Decide on policy for grant requests for events that have already been held. 12.) Get ruling from City Attorney regarding Conflict of Interest; when does a Commissioner have to withdraw or leave the podium; e.g., Commissioners who belong to other groups that request money and voting on their grant requests. ITEM 11-FOCUS 95-96/COMMISSION WORKPLAN -The Fair Oaks Library is moving on Saturday, December 9 and need help with the move. Their grand opening will be held in January. -Commissioner Filippi announced the Peninsula Symphony is looking at St. Pius Church as the location for their 1996 Christmas Concert. There is a problem because St. Pius will not allow the use of their church unless it benefits their school. He will obtain more information on this matter. -Commissioner Ball said she would like to work with Joe Marchi on a fundraiser. -Commissioner Saye stated he would like to see us offer something similar to the Chickens' Ball in San Carlos. The event could be held at Carrington Hall. -Commissioner Fischer said she really likes the idea of children dancing at the Concert in the Park series. She also suggested more "hands-on" projects with school children and suggested the Commissioners actually go out and visit more in the schools. TTEM 12-HISTORIC TOUIZS BOOK The Commissioners reviewed copies of the Historic Tours Book developed by the Historic Resources Advisory Committee (HRAC). Commissioner Saye noted he has sold over 50 copies of the book.
