M/S Saye/Piulle: To send a letter to HRAC Chairperson Ken Rolandelli <br /> congratulating him on the Historic Tours Book. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> ITEM 13 -CONCERT PROGItAM <br /> Commissioner Distefano will go to the Port Commission in January to <br /> request funding for the 1996 Concert in the Park Series. <br /> Commissioner Piulle has researched the process for placing an insert of the <br /> concert program in the City's water bills. The Commission will need to have <br /> 19,000 inserts printed by May 6 for insertion in the May and June water bills <br /> and has made a reservation with the Cash Collection Department and will <br /> pursue the cost of printing the inserts and report back to the Commission. <br /> M/S Piulle/Saye: To extend the meeting 15 minutes. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> ITEM 14-RED MORTON COMMUNITY CENTER ART WORK <br /> Supervisor Hannon reported that the purchase of the interior furnishings for <br /> the new Red Morton Center came in under bid and as a result, the remaining <br /> funds along with some fundraising monies may be used to purchase the <br /> public art wall hanging. Commissioners Piulle and Ball volunteered to form <br /> a sub-committee to select the art for the new facility. Commissioner Saye will <br /> be the alternate. <br /> Supervisor Hannon announced the public grand opening of the new center <br /> will be held on Saturday, January 20 from l0am-4pm and suggested that the <br /> Commission have a display table at the open house. Commissioners Piulle <br /> and Ball volunteered to organize the table for the event. <br /> ITEM 15-EVALUATION OF CULTURAL EVENTS HELD DURING THE <br /> PAST 30 DAYS <br /> -Commissioner Filippi attended the Peninsula Symphony Concert at Stanford <br /> Church. He also mentioned the remains of the Union Cemetery solider were <br /> on display recently and that HUCA is accepting donations to build a new <br /> statue. He noted that Pete and Ginny Hughes and their Halloween Dinner <br /> Auction Committee helped raise over $14,000 to purchase the sound system <br /> for the new Red Morton Center. <br /> -Dr. Balderas mentioned the elementary schools presently have an <br /> instrumental music program. <br /> -Commissioner Ball attended a presentation of the history of Greek <br /> immigrants coming to the United States. She will be attending the Christmas <br /> Concert at Carrington Hall this Saturday. <br />
