ITEM 9-POLICE DEPARTMENT ART DEDICATION,FEBRUARY 23,1995 <br /> Commissioner Piulle announced the dedication ceremony for the art work at <br /> the Police Department will be held at 3:OOpm on Thursday, February 23 in <br /> front of the building. Commissioner Fischer will speak to Captain Granucci <br /> to confirm the date and time and will get back to the Commissioners. <br /> ITEM 10-FOCUS'95 <br /> M/S VB/OR: To request additional funding of$20,000.00 from the City <br /> Council for cultural activities in Redwood City. The <br /> Commission's current budget is only .18 1/2 cents per citizen. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> ITEM 11-EVALUATION OR DISCUSSION OF CULTURAL EVENTS HELD <br /> DURING THE PAST 30 DAYS <br /> Commissioner Ball reported she attended "Dance in Time" program <br /> presented by Joe Marchi and said it was excellent. She has also attended Part 2 <br /> of the Speaker Series also presented by Joe Marchi and noted it was very slow. <br /> M/S Redington/Ball: To extend the meeting to 10:00pm. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> M/S Piulle/Fischer: To give the free ticket to the Arts Star luncheon to <br /> Chairperson Filippi. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> M/S Piulle/Fischer: To use budgeted funds to pay for tickets to the Art Star <br /> Awards luncheon for any Commissioner who wishes to attend. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> The Sequoia Alumni Association is planning six activities for its Centennial <br /> Celebration: a dinner dance, a car show, Commemorative Big Football Game, <br /> a pancake breakfast, and the Grand Marshall for the July 4th parade will be the <br /> oldest living graduate of Sequoia High School. <br /> "Prime Time Live" will be held on January 25. The program will involve art <br /> and music stimulated nerve impulses to help promote music. <br /> Chairperson Filippi reported on the Intergenerational Program and Literacy <br /> Program that is ongoing with Pam Thornberg. She is working on new <br /> activities to combine seniors and children using music and art. <br />
