The Commissioners agreed to give a certificate of appreciation to the Port <br /> Commission at the same meeting. The Commissioners volunteered to each <br /> call one or more principals in the Redwood City School District to see if they <br /> would be attending the June awards ceremony. <br /> Commissioner Filippi requested that the Commissioners give out the awards <br /> to the winners and that the Mayor introduce the Commission and give the <br /> opening remarks. <br /> M/S Filippi/Piulle: To continue the meeting to 10:00pm. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> The Commissioners also requested that the Historic Resources Advisory <br /> Committee be invited to attend the June awards ceremony and possibly have <br /> someone speak regarding the theme of the contest. <br /> ITEM 5- MURAL GUIDELINES <br /> Commissioner Piulle reviewed the mural guidelines that she and <br /> Commissioner Distefano had revised. The guidelines are designed for use <br /> throughout the City and are to include public and private murals. The <br /> Commissioners discussed the guidelines and felt they should be forwarded to <br /> the Architectural Advisory Committee for further review. <br /> M/S Fischer/Saye: To accept guidelines as presented and forward to the <br /> Architectural Advisory Committee for review. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> ITEM 6-TIME CAPSULE FOR CITY HALL <br /> Commissioner Piulle advised the Commission that as a private citizen, she <br /> contacted Ken Rolandelli to see about putting together a time capsule for the <br /> new City Hall. The Commissioners discussed the idea and agreed with the <br /> concept. Commissioner Piulle agreed to attend a meeting to obtain additional <br /> information on this matter. <br /> M/S Piulle/Ball: To have the Cultural Commission endorse the idea of a <br /> time capsule at the new City Hall and contribute some <br /> material for it. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> ITEM 7- BUDGET INFORMATION UPDATE <br /> Superintendent Hartman explained that the entire department budget was <br /> reviewed by the City Manager and Finance Director on April 18. <br /> Approximately $245,000 was cut from our budget which included any new <br /> additions for personnel and equipment for the new Red Morton Center and <br />
