An informational memo could be sent to the City Council <br /> before the budget hearing on July 10 and the Commissioners would have an <br /> opportunity to speak at that specific budget hearing. She suggested forming a <br /> sub-committee to develop the informational memo. <br /> Commissioner Piulle noted that $14,000.00 of the Commission's proposed <br /> budget increase was to provide public art at the new Red Morton Center and <br /> she felt we should ask the City Council for funds for public art acquisition. <br /> During the construction process of the new Library and the new Police <br /> Facility, monies were designated for art at both sites by the City Council. She <br /> suggested formulating a proposal to go to the Architectural Advisory <br /> Committee to get their support on this matter. <br /> M/S Ball/Filippi: To extend the meeting to 10:30pm. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> Commissioners Filippi and Ball volunteered to form a sub-committee to <br /> work on the budget matter. <br /> M/S Piulle/Distefano: To separate future needs into two items; one a budget <br /> item; and second, the art work acquisition for Red <br /> Morton Center. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> Commissioner Piulle and Saye will form a sub-committee to work on the <br /> public art acquisition matter. <br /> ITEM 9-CONCERTS <br /> Supervisor Hannon advised the Commission that all concerts are confirmed <br /> except the Navy Band and the Sequoia High School concert. <br /> ITEM 10-FOCUS '95 <br /> -There is a Senior Art Display at the main corridor of the San Mateo County <br /> Government building, <br /> -The Redwood City Art Center Board is working on a "Hard Hat Preview" of <br /> their new facility. <br /> -Commissioner Filippi asked if Chairperson Redington had spoken with the <br /> City Council about the Commission being involved with all projects and it <br /> was explained that the CIP budget will be developed shortly and that list can <br /> be presented to the Commission to review and decide what the Cultural <br /> Commission should be involved in. <br />
