ITEM 11-CONCERT PROGRAM <br /> Commissioner Filippi recommended a Bavarian music group and an <br /> accordion band for the summer concert series. He said the Commissioners <br /> should begin to recruit for groups to play at our concerts. The Commissioners <br /> will be sent copies of a questionnaire developed for potential music groups. <br /> Chairperson Redington will contact the Port Commission for possible <br /> program funding. <br /> ITEM 12-RED MORTON COMMUNITY CENTER ART WORK <br /> Commissioner Piulle displayed a sample tapestry from artist Helen Webber. <br /> She explained that she met with Commissioner Ball and Supervisor Hannon <br /> to discuss the selection of art work for the new Red Morton Center. She has <br /> researched the art and discovered Ms. Webber is the only provider of this <br /> specific art work. The work selected for the new facility will be three tapestry <br /> panels hanging on the large wall in the lobby. Superintendent Hartman <br /> explained that fundraising monies and project cost savings will be used to pay <br /> for the art work. Commissioner Piulle said Ms. Webber will submit a <br /> miniature full scale color cartoon after a 20°lo deposit is paid. <br /> M/S Fischer/Saye: To approve further negotiating the purchase of <br /> contemporary tapestry art work for the Red Morton Center with <br /> artist Helen Webber. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> Commissioners Piulle and Filippi will help staff the Cultural Commission <br /> table�at the Red Morton Center Grand Opening on January 20. <br /> ITEM 13 - EVALUATION OF CULTURAL EVENTS HELD DURING THE <br /> PAST 30 DAYS <br /> -Commissioner Ball attended the music fest sponsored by the Sequoia <br /> Alumni Association at Carrington Hall on December 9. She said it was well <br /> done but was not well attended. <br /> -Commissioner Saye mentioned the PCS performance of "The Music Man" <br /> was remarkable. He also spoke about a 1951 NBC performance of "Amahl <br /> and the Night Visitors". <br /> -Commissioner Ball suggested sending something to the local newspapers <br /> noting the outstanding Christmas decorations this year in Redwood City. <br /> M/S Piulle/Saye: To extend the meeting 15 minutes to 9:45pm. <br /> Motion passed. <br />
