Civic Cultural Commission Page 6 <br /> Minutes of October 3, 1996 <br /> Returning to Item 4 -Action on Grant Requests: <br /> Elena Mori of Kennedy School confirmed the dates of their performance will <br /> be May 2 and 3. <br /> M/S Saye/Redington: To grant $1,500.00 to Kennedy Middle School Drama <br /> program. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> M/S Filippi/Redington: To extend the meeting to 9:50pm. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> The following items were taken out of order: <br /> ITEM 8-CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Chairperson Piulle said she received a letter with a copy of an invoice that <br /> went to three Redwood City elementary schools and the School District from <br /> the San Mateo County Arts Council regarding last year's Music in the Schools <br /> program. Since the Commission fully funded the program for $5,800.00, <br /> Chairperson Piulle felt a letter should be sent to the Arts Council requesting a <br /> full accounting of the program. <br /> M/S Redington/Distefano: To send a letter to the San Mateo County Arts <br /> Council requesting a documented accountingof the <br /> Music in the Schools program and a statement of <br /> how much the Commission spent. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> ITEM 5-UPDATES <br /> -Summer Concert Series <br /> Commissioners Filippi, Ball and Piulle met and discussed the proposed 1997 <br /> Summer Concert series. A memo detailing the program will be included in <br /> next month's Commission packet. Commissioner Filippi noted there will be <br /> 6 concerts and one at the Port; the concert time is being changed to <br /> 6:00-8:OOpm; the bands selected were the ones with the highest concert <br /> attendance; approximate cost is $4,800.00. <br /> ITEM 6-SUB-COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> ='Tis the Season" Program <br /> Commissioner Ball reported the committee is meeting and all plans are <br /> progressing.
