2. Assist with Public Art Acquisition for the new City Hall and the <br /> implementation of gallery space at this facility. <br /> It was announced there will be a special meeting of the Cultural Commission <br /> held on Thursday, April 11 at the Red Morton Center at 11:30am to <br /> brainstorxn ideas for future Cultural Commission events and activities. <br /> ITEM 5- SUMMER CONCERT PROGRAM <br /> Commissioner Filippi presented the tentative 1996 Summer Concert Series to <br /> be held on Wednesday nights from 6:OOpm-7:30pm at Stafford Park except for <br /> a Saturday concert at the Port of Redwood City and the Peninsula Symphony <br /> concert at Red Morton Park. The concert schedule is as follows: <br /> June 19-Blue Moon Orchestra <br /> June 26 -To be announced <br /> July 10-Air Force Band from Travis Air Force Base <br /> July 27-Peninsula Symphony-Families Arts Day <br /> July 31-Pete Charles Country Western Band <br /> August 14-Motorvators <br /> August 21-Charlie Bulanti Big Band "Sound of Swing" <br /> August 28-Internationals <br /> September 11-Peruvian Musical Group; African Group; Latino Group <br /> M/S Redington/Ball: To accept holding concerts on Wednesdays at Stafford <br /> Park from 6:00-7:30pm except for a Saturday concert at the <br /> Port and a Saturday concert at Red Morton Park by the <br /> Peninsula Symphony. <br /> Chairperson Piulle indicated she would vote no because she felt the concerts <br /> should be at various locations in the city and not just one site. <br /> Motion passed. (Yes-1, No-1 Piulle) <br /> M/S rilippi/Redington: To decline putting a concert advertisement in the <br /> monthly water bills due to the high printing expense of the <br /> flyers. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> ITEM 7-CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR THE ARTS UPDATE <br /> Commissioner Filippi announced a multi-cultural talent show entitled <br /> "Dreamscape" will be held at McKinley Middle School on Friday, March 22 <br /> and 29 from 7:30-9:30pm. Tickets are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children. <br />
