2. Assist with Public Art Acquisition for the new City Hall and the implementation of gallery space at this facility. It was announced there will be a special meeting of the Cultural Commission held on Thursday, April 11 at the Red Morton Center at 11:30am to brainstorxn ideas for future Cultural Commission events and activities. ITEM 5- SUMMER CONCERT PROGRAM Commissioner Filippi presented the tentative 1996 Summer Concert Series to be held on Wednesday nights from 6:OOpm-7:30pm at Stafford Park except for a Saturday concert at the Port of Redwood City and the Peninsula Symphony concert at Red Morton Park. The concert schedule is as follows: June 19-Blue Moon Orchestra June 26 -To be announced July 10-Air Force Band from Travis Air Force Base July 27-Peninsula Symphony-Families Arts Day July 31-Pete Charles Country Western Band August 14-Motorvators August 21-Charlie Bulanti Big Band "Sound of Swing" August 28-Internationals September 11-Peruvian Musical Group; African Group; Latino Group M/S Redington/Ball: To accept holding concerts on Wednesdays at Stafford Park from 6:00-7:30pm except for a Saturday concert at the Port and a Saturday concert at Red Morton Park by the Peninsula Symphony. Chairperson Piulle indicated she would vote no because she felt the concerts should be at various locations in the city and not just one site. Motion passed. (Yes-1, No-1 Piulle) M/S rilippi/Redington: To decline putting a concert advertisement in the monthly water bills due to the high printing expense of the flyers. Motion passed. ITEM 7-CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR THE ARTS UPDATE Commissioner Filippi announced a multi-cultural talent show entitled "Dreamscape" will be held at McKinley Middle School on Friday, March 22 and 29 from 7:30-9:30pm. Tickets are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children.
