ITEM 8-CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE UPDATE <br /> Chairperson Piulle and Vice Chair Filippi attended the last meeting where it was <br /> agreed to have a parent from McKinley and from John Gill join the Committee. Pat <br /> Nugent from McKinley was present and distributed copies of the McKinley <br /> Messenger which was highly praised by the Commission. A video called "McKinley <br /> Bulldogs First Video Yearbook" was given to the Commission. <br /> 10 minute recess held at 8:25 p.m. <br /> ITEM 9- SPECIAL CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION MEETING -(4-11-96) <br /> Chairperson Piulle requested that she be given 10 minutes under Oral Presentation <br /> at the Special Meeting. The meeting will be held on April 11, at 11:30 a.m. at the Red <br /> Morton Community Center Classroom. Lunch will be provided. The agenda will <br /> include: 1. San Mateo County Arts Council Presentation re: Families Arts Day; <br /> 2. Request re: Arts Festival for July; and 3. Focus 96-97 Brainstorm Workshop. <br /> ITEM 10-PUBLIC RELATIONS/REDWOOD CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD <br /> Chairp�rson Piulle indicated that she had contacted Dr. Crates' office about the <br /> School District Board's knowledge of the activities and grants provided by the <br /> Cultural Commission and she learned that they are not aware of these events. She <br /> would like to request permission to make a presentation to the Redwood City <br /> School District Board and to send them a copy of our annual report. It was agreed <br /> that she should do so and also try to make a presentation to the principals as well. <br /> ITEM 12-FOCUS 96/COMMISSION WORKPLAN <br /> Vintage Music Theater has confirmed the event for Carrington Hall November 2 & <br /> 3. They will be securing insurance a month prior to the event. <br /> ITEM 13-EVALUATION OF CULTURAL EVENTS HELD DURING THE PAST 30 <br /> DAYS <br /> • Commissioner Saye reported on the meeting at Redwood Shores regarding what <br /> would be incorporated into the new school and community center facility. He <br /> conveyed the need for an auditorium/performing facility. He also talked about <br /> his most enjoyable experience as principal for a day at Fair Oaks School. <br /> • Commissioner Ball attended "Dreamscape" at McKinley School and remarked <br /> on the extremely bad manners of the children at the performance. The control <br /> issue was bad. <br />
