Civic Cultural Commission Page S Minutes of June 6, 1996 anticipated to be allocated as follows: $15,000.00 for Red Morton Center art work; $10,000.00 for computers for the Red Morton Center teen center; and $5,000.00 for gym mats. Roll Call Vote: Filippi-no; Distefano-no, Fischer-yes; Redington-yes; Saye-yes; Piulle-yes Yes-4, No-2 Motion passed. ITEM 8-SPECIAL WORKSHOP PRIORITY LIST Chairperson Piulle asked the Commissioners to turn in their Special Workshop Priority List which was developed from the Special Meeting held on April 11. She will work with Secretary Monroe to tally the results. ITEM 9-FAMILIES ARTS DAY UPDATE Supervisor Hannon said she spoke with Normajean Duran who has confirmed she has 13 contracts for art booths for the event, has arranged for t-shirts for staff, designed maps and flyers, and is working on publicity. Supervisor Hannon is working with the Peninsula Symphony and scheduling the entertainment for the event. Chairperson Piulle said she has arranged to receive stuffers for the public gift bags. ITEM 10- KENT AWARDS UPDATE Commissioner Redington gave a history of the Kent Awards and handed out informational brochures on the awards program. He also gave out the 1996 Kent Awards program at which the Intergenerational Program at John Gill School was a recipient. ITEM 11-COMNNNITY WORKROOM DISPLAY AREA Chairperson Piulle stated she spoke with Director Peter Griffiths about having a place for the Cultural Commission to display its awards and to use as a meeting room. A room at the Community Activities Building is being prepared which will have a bookcase of Commission reference materials, plaques, and artwork. When the meeting room is ready, the Commissioners should contact Secretary Denise Monroe to make reservations to use the room. ITEM 12-LETTER TO DAVID IRMER Chairperson Piulle asked that a letter be sent to David Irmer congratulating him on the impressive planting area recently completed at Sequoia Station.
