Civic Cultural Commission page 3 Minutes of August 1, 1996 The Commissioners requested that changes be made to the funding guidelines as follows: Item 10 - Add "Please answer all questions in the order given." Item 6 - Add "Non-compliance with this requirement may jeopardize future funding." -Marketing Plan Chairperson Piulle told the Commissioners to let her know of any groups they would like included in the Commission's marketing mailing. A list is already in place and will be used to mail a cover letter and grant request to interested groups or organizzhons. She asked for a list of names and phone numbers of Redwood City venues to be provided to the Commissioners. The list will include Carrington Hall, Canada College, Veterans Memorial Senior Center, and the Fox Theater. The following items were taken out of order: ITEM 6-UPDATES -Library Programs Supervisor Celia LaRi�tiere reviewed a list of Library activities for August (attached) with the Commissioners. She noted that Project Read is in need of additional tutors and will offer training in September. Currently there is a one year waiting period for learners for Project Read. The Project Read BBQ will be held Saturday, August 10 at the Community Activities Building and the Commissioners were all invited to attend. -Summer Concert Series The Commissioners discussed the concert on July 31 at Stafford Park. Supervisor Hannon mentioned since ��e are not paying for the Air Force Band on August 7, dinner will be provided for the band at Red Morton Center after their concert. The Commissioners were invited to have dinner with the band and were requested to contact Supervisor Hannon with their dinner order prior to the concert. Commissioner Ball suggested developing a formal program to follow at each concert which would include introductions, opening remarks, intermission and closing remarks. The program would be placed on a clipboard for the Commissioner hosting the concert. A draft program was given to staff. It was noted that the concert at the Port was poorly attended just as in previous years. -Red Morton Center Art The,purchase of the art work for Red Morton Center was approved by City Council on July 29, 1996.
