Civic Cultural Commission Page 6 <br /> Minutes of January 2, 1997 <br /> M/S Filippi/Ball: That all requests go through the Publicity sub-committee <br /> for the Chamber hotline. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> The Commissioners discussed the re-naming of the archway plaza and the <br /> Climate Best dedication plaque. <br /> M/S Filippi/Ball: To form a new sub-committee entitled "Arguello Bust <br /> Celebration" to work on the Climate Best dedication plaque and the <br /> re-naming of the archway plaza. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> The sub-committee will consist of Commissioners Redington (chair), <br /> Distefano, and Saye. <br /> The Commissioners discussed their workplan and focused on the "All for <br /> One" proposal. Commissioner Filippi said this proposal was to show unity <br /> for our tazget group (children). He thought a challenge could be issued to <br /> other City boards and commissions to network with our programs. <br /> Commissioner Filippi will check with the Chamber to see what information <br /> is given out to prospective residents and new newcomers. He would like to <br /> get this information out to the community and also receive the City Council's <br /> approval of the concept. Councilwoman LaBerge mentioned the Council was <br /> provided with a report with listing all things City departxnents provide for <br /> children and she will get him a copy of the report. <br /> Commissioner Filippi asked the Commissioners if they had any ideas for the <br /> 4th of July Parade. <br /> Commissioner Filippi mentioned he contacted 12 other cities to see what the <br /> term limits were for their commissions/boards. He provided a copy of a <br /> report to the Commissioners detailing the information he received. The <br /> Commissioners discussed their views on term limits for commissioners. <br /> M/S Filippi/Ball: To send a letter to the City Council Ad Hoc Committee on <br /> Board and Commissions to encourage term limits on all boards, <br /> commissions and committees. <br /> Roll Call Vote: Yes-Ball, Filippi, Distefano; No-Piulle, Redington, Saye (tie) <br /> Motion died due to a tie. <br /> M/S Filippi/Redington: To send the information Commissioner Filippi's <br /> report on term limits to the City Council Ad Hoc Committee. <br /> Motion passed. (Yes-5, No-1, Saye) <br />
