(Yes-Distefano, Piulle, Saye; No-Ball, Redington) <br /> Chairperson Ball spoke about a folk group performance at Canada College as <br /> a Commission fundraising event in conjunction with Joe Marchi. <br /> ITEM 3 — DISCUSSION AND RECOMMENDATION ON THE POTENTIAL USE <br /> OF THE OLD SAN MATEO COUNTY COURTHOUSE AS A VISUAL ARTS <br /> MUSEUM <br /> This item was tabled for discussion at a future meeting. <br /> ITEM 4 — SUB-COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> -Tis the Season <br /> Given the lengthy discussion under the grant request portion of the agenda, <br /> there was no further report on this item. <br /> -Publicity <br /> The Tis the Season Calendar will be published and distributed. <br /> -Public Art <br /> Commissioner Piulle will work on the art display at City Hall. <br /> -Summer Concerts <br /> A memo was received from Manager Julie Hannon giving the Commissioners <br /> some`recommendations for the 1998 Summer Concert Series. The sub- <br /> committee will set a meeting and discuss the proposals. <br /> -Youth and Special Events <br /> Commissioner Britschgi was absent. There was no report. <br /> -Banner Policy <br /> Commissioner Redington stated there was no new information to report. <br /> -Budget Committee <br /> Commissioners reviewed a proposal from the Committee to separate grants <br /> into large and small categories and to review large grant applications once <br /> during the fiscal year. More work still needs to be done with respect to <br /> timing of these requests. <br /> M/S Redington/Saye: That no Cultural Commission grants be given prior to <br /> the City Council approving the FY 98-99 budget. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> A revised draft should be brought back to the next meeting. <br />
