Civic Culrural Commission Page� <br /> Minutes of February 6, 1997 <br /> ITEM 3 - CONTINUANCE OF FAMILIES ARTS DAY PROGRAM WITH SAN <br /> MATEO COUNTY ARTS CQUNCIL <br /> Matias Varela, Executive Director of the San Mateo County Arts Council <br /> reported that his Board has no resources for the project but they could <br /> provide technical resources. Commissioner Ball felt the Commission should <br /> look to do something else such as add to "Make a Circus" to increase <br /> attendance. Commissioner Britschgi suggested working with the Climate <br /> Best Fest. Commissioner Filippi suggested adding on to an existing event. <br /> M/S Filippi/Distefano: To discontinue the Commission's support of <br /> Families Arts Day. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> The Commissioners were willing to look at other options of providing art <br /> activities for youth. Mr. Varela stated the San Mateo County Arts Council is <br /> seeking re-granting of funds and wants to maintain a good working <br /> relationship with Redwood City. <br /> ITEM 4-CONSIDERATION OF HISTORIC RESOURCES ADVISORY <br /> COMMITTEE REQUEST FOR DONATION TOWARDS PLAQUE FOR <br /> NEWEST CLIMATE BEST BY GOVERNMENT TEST SIGN <br /> M/S Filippi/Redington: That the Commission donate $100.00 to the Historic <br /> Resources Advisory Committee for a plaque for the <br /> Climate Best by Government Test sign. <br /> Motion withdrawn by originator and seconder. <br /> M/S Distefano/Redington: To allocate $250.00 towards a plaque for the new <br /> Climate Best sign. <br /> Motion withdrawn by originator and seconder. <br /> M/S Distefano/Redington: To allocate $375.00 for the plaque for the <br /> archway sign. <br /> Motion failed. (Yes-2, No-5) <br /> M/S Distefano/Redington: To allocate $275.00 for the plaque for the archway <br /> sign. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> ITEM 5 -COMMISSION PARTICIPATION IN 4TH OF JULY ACTIVITIES <br /> M/S Filippi/Saye: To have the Cultural Commission ride in cars in the <br /> 4th of July Parade. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br />
