He suggested either having a <br /> open category for the art contest which will include any medium or having a <br /> display of x-ray art at the awards program. He will pursue this project with <br /> one first grade class and will display at the art contest awards program. <br /> M/S Distefano/Ball: To have the theme of "Your Favorite Place in Redwood <br /> City" for the art contest and possibly include the art work <br /> in the time capsule. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> Commissioner Filippi volunteered to contact John Gill and McKinley about <br /> computer art. <br /> M/S Filippi/Distefano: To maintain the art contest for grades K-6. <br /> Motion passed. (6-yes, 1-no Britschgi) <br /> ITEM 7-SUB-COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> -Banner Policy <br /> The Commissioners asked that a letter be sent to City Council requesting that <br /> banners not be allowed to hang on the 2600 block of Broadway. The letter <br /> should also ask for a written response from the City Council. <br /> =Tis the Season Holiday Event <br /> The Commissioners reviewed the critique done by the sub-committee and a <br /> binder was passed around with materials describing the entire program. <br /> -PACTAC <br /> PACTAC has a meeting next week with Superintendent Ron Crates on their <br /> commitment to arts and music at McKinley School. <br /> -Publicity <br /> Sub-committee will try to get into "Connections" publications to advertise <br /> the Commission's activities. <br /> -City Hall Historical Art <br /> M/S Filippi/Ball: To disband the City Hall Historic Art sub-committee until <br /> further notice from Helen Graves. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br />
