Civic Cultural Commission page� <br /> Minutes of March 6, 1997 <br /> ITEM 2-CONSIDERATION OF FUNDING FOR HISTORIC UNION <br /> CEMETERY PLAQUE <br /> Jean Cloud spoke about the process of placing Union Cemetery on the <br /> National Register of Historic Places. Helen Graves, President of the Archives <br /> Committee, explained they would like to purchase an official plaque for <br /> Union Cemetery with the National Register of Historic Places inscription. <br /> The cast bronze plaque is 10' x 15" in size and cost$385.00. <br /> M/S Saye/Filippi: To support $385.00 for a plaque to identify Union <br /> Cemetery as a National Historic landmark. <br /> Motion amended Saye/Filippi: And to have a designation of the <br /> Civic Cultural Commission on a separate plaque as the donor. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> Mrs. Cloud mentioned that all the fallen monuments at Union Cemetery <br /> have been repaired by Mr. Fontana. <br /> ITEM 4-UPDATE ON ACQUISITION OF ORGAN BY MESSIAH <br /> LUTHERAN CHURCH AND USE OF FACILITIES FOR CONCERTS <br /> Commissioner Saye spoke about the new organ the Messiah Lutheran <br /> Church is interested in purchasing. Superintendent Centeno stated the City <br /> Attarney's Office is researching the possibility of the Cultural Commission <br /> providing funding for cultural events at the facility. She will notify the <br /> Commission of the results of the research. Commissioner Saye stated that <br /> Pastor Jim Anderson would like to receive a copy of this evening's minutes. <br /> ITEM 5-SUB-COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Chairperson Ball announced that she, Commissioner Filippi and <br /> Superintendent Centeno met to look at ways to get all of the Commissioners <br /> involved on the Commission and to make the sub-committees as effective as <br /> possible. She reviewed a list of proposed sub-committees and the <br /> Commissioners assigned to them. A revised sub-committee listing will be <br /> sent to the Commissioners. <br /> -Banner Policy <br /> Commissioner Distefano said she is still waiting for the written banner policy <br /> from the City of San Carlos. It was noted that there are no banners being <br /> hung in the 2600 block of Broadway while staff is working on a report to City <br /> Council on this matter. Superintendent Centeno will provide the <br /> Commissioners with a copy of the staff report when it is ready. <br />
