Civic Cultural Commission page 5 <br /> Minutes of April 3, 1997 <br /> The Commissioners will review the Port budget materials and modify if <br /> necessary. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> -Youth and Art <br /> Commissioners Britschgi and Saye reported on their meeting with Barbara <br /> Pierce of RESCUE and all agreed on the need to work together with Kollage <br /> and consolidate funding. <br /> -Banner Policy <br /> No banners are being hung on the 2600 block of Broadway and no Council <br /> report has been developed. <br /> -Special Art Events <br /> Commissioner Britschgi reported that the Art Center needs to be more vital <br /> in the community and she would like to coordinate visits from Sequoia and <br /> McKinley to the Art Center. She responded to questions regarding the <br /> operation of the Art Center. Commissioner Distefano spoke to the creation of <br /> an advisory committee. <br /> ITEM 7-EVALUATION OF CULTURAL EVENTS HELD DURING THE <br /> PAST 30 DAYS <br /> -Commissioner Filippi reported performing in "The Boyfriend" at Sequoia <br /> High School and also being Principal of the Day at McKinley. He <br /> complimented Darrell Blackmore for his leadership and discipline. <br /> -Commissioner Britschgi attended "Man of LaMancha" and "The Boyfriend". <br /> -Commissioner Saye also attended "The Boyfriend" and "Man of LaMancha". <br /> He also reported on being Principal of the Day at Garfield School. <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> -Commissioner Saye mentioned the downtown business advertisement <br /> insert in the San Mateo County Times. <br /> -Commissioner Britschgi suggested having a brainstorming session with all <br /> arts agencies. <br /> -Commissioner Filippi suggested moving the July meeting to Thursday, <br /> July 10, 1997 due to the 4th of July holiday. <br /> M/S Redington/Filippi: To move the July meeting from July 3 to July 10. <br />
