Commission page¢ <br /> Minutes of May l, 1997 ° <br /> M/S Filippi/Distefano: To grant $9,500.00 to Kollage for the NOTE program <br /> contingent on Council budget approval. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> Ms. Hilferty responded to questions on changes in the teacher education <br /> component, per child cost for the program, and how parents are notified. <br /> Commissioner Redington requested that he be sent copies of informational <br /> material that is sent home to parents. <br /> Chairperson Ball expressed her delight at seeing one big unit working <br /> together to put culture back in Redwood City schools. <br /> M/S Filippi/Distefano: To fund the Dance Residency Program for $5,100.00 <br /> contingent on Council budget approval. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> ' ITEM 3-SUB-COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> -Publicity <br /> Commissioner Distefano reported on Civic Cultural inclusion in the <br /> "Redwood City Connection". Commissioner Saye will work with the <br /> Chamber of Commerce for the summer concerts to be included on their <br /> hotline. <br /> =Tis the Season <br /> An organizational meeting is scheduled for 7:30pm on May 13, 1997. <br /> Invitations have been prepared and sent out to 35 groups to get involved in <br /> this year's event. Commissioner Filippi reported he has contacted the City <br /> Manager's office about incorporating the annual Boards and Commission <br /> Dinner with entertainment and the tree lighting ceremony. He requested <br /> approval of up to $10,000.00 in support for this year's event and will <br /> encourage groups to come up with most of the funding. <br /> M/S Distefano/Filippi: To approve up to $10,000.00 for `Tis the Season <br /> pending Council budget approval. <br /> Committee members and staff responded to questions regarding timing of the <br /> request, sponsorships, and other fundraising. Commissioner Saye proposed <br /> fundraising at the 4th of july Festival. <br /> Roll Call Vote: (Yes-3, No-4) <br /> Motion failed. <br /> -Public Art <br />
