Minutes of fhe Civic Culfu�a!Commission Page 4 <br /> Thu�sday,July 2, 1998 <br /> M/S Britschgi/ : To recommend that the Council representatives meet with <br /> one retiring and one current Civic Cultural Commissioner. <br /> Motion died due to lack of a second. <br /> M/S Distefano/ : To meet with the City Council and members of this <br /> year's Civic Cultural Commission, specifically <br /> Commissioners Distefano and Ball. <br /> Motion died due to lack of second. <br /> Commissioner Saye also volunteered to meet with Council on behalf of the <br /> Commission. <br /> M/S Saye/Redington: To select two members of the Civic Cultural Commission <br /> to meet with members of the City Council. <br /> Motion amended to add: The two members would be Chairperson Ball and <br /> Commissioner Saye. (Approved by maker and seconder of original motion). <br /> Vote on Amended Motion: Motion Passed (Yes-4, No-1 Distefano) <br /> Vote on Original Motion: Motion Passed (Yes-4; No-1 Distefano) <br /> M/S Saye/Britschgi: To have each Cultural Commissioner provide written notes <br /> on topics they wished discussed at the meeting befinreen the <br /> sub-committee and Council representatives. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> ITEM 4— SUB-COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> -Publicity <br /> Commissioner Distefano will submit an article about the summer concert series <br /> in the Redwood City Almanac. <br /> -Tis the Season <br /> Chairperson Ball reported a future meeting will be held with the Tis the Season <br /> sub-committee. <br /> -Public Art <br /> Commissioner Britschgi spoke to City Manager Ed Everett regarding public art <br /> for the new City Hall and he suggested she contact Community Development <br /> Director Deborah Nelson. <br /> -Summer Concerts <br /> July 15 is the next concert date. An estimated 800 people attended the July 1 <br /> concert at Stafford Park. Commissioner Distefano suggested having a small <br /> questionnaire to determine what city the concert attendees are from. <br />
