Civic Cu/tural Commission Page 5 <br /> Minutes of June 7, 2001 <br /> M/S Dale/Douglas: To transfer the unused balance from the <br /> Commission's Fiscal Year 2000-2001 budget into the Public Art fund <br /> and working on the Public Art ordinance to help supplement this <br /> effort. <br /> Motion passed unanimousiy. <br /> -Children and Schools <br /> The Commissioners felt the Art Contest was well received at the May <br /> meeting. <br /> -Cultural Commission Sponsored Events <br /> Summer Concerts <br /> The Commissioners were given flyers for the 2001 Summer Concert series <br /> and they also signed up to be the Master of Ceremonies at specific concert <br /> dates. The Commissioners were reminded to announce the Optimist Club's <br /> hot dog stand at each concert. All proceeds from the hot dog stand go back <br /> into the community. <br /> 'Tis the Season Committee Meeting <br /> Commissioner pouglas spoke about the May 8 meeting of the 'Tis the Season <br /> Committee which was mediated by the Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center. <br /> He felt it was productive and issues were resolved. Commissioner pouglas <br /> will be the Commission liaison to the committee. Bob Slusser also spoke <br /> about the May 8 meeting and stated that an operations pian wiii be <br /> developed at the next `Tis the Season meeting. The Commissioners spoke <br /> about the issue of insurance needed for the parade and whether this was a <br /> City-sponsored event. <br /> M/S Ball/Douglas: That the Cultural Commission reaffirm continuing <br /> sponsorship of the `Tis the Season events. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> M/S Dale/Kushin: That the grant given to `Tis the Season on �uly i, <br /> 2000 be moved from the Large Grant category to the Commission <br /> Sponsored Events category on the FY00-01 budget spreadsheet. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> -Strategic Plan Update <br /> No report. <br /> -Public Art <br /> Commissioner pouglas reported that the sub-committee met this week and a <br /> few changes were made to the Public Art document, and it will now be <br /> forwarded to the Planning Commission. The sub-committee will be meeting <br /> on July 16 at 10:00am at the CAB, and Commissioner pouglas will be <br />
