G1 <br />438 <br />C. G. UHLENBERG & COMPANY, AUDITORS, SUBMITTED IN LETTER VERIFICATION OF EXAMINATION OF <br />CERTAIN ACCOUNTS AND DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY AS AT MARCH 311 194-9 and stated that <br />as soon as practical after June 30, 1949, the end of the current year, they would <br />submit their detailed report relating to examination of the financial records of all <br />accounts, departments and funds of the city. Letter was ordered filed. <br />APPLICATION TO CONDUCT USED CAR LOT BY ANTHONY A. CATALDO, at 222 El Camino Real, after <br />discussion was referred to the Planning Commission for approval and recommendation by <br />Building Inspector. Mr. Catalde at present conducts repair service and operates an <br />an oil station at 234 E1 Camino Real and has two 501 lots that he would like to use <br />for used car lot. (Mayor Werder informed Mr. Cataldo that it would be necessary <br />for him to conform to the new ordinance); City Engineer Jain stated a use permit <br />would be required. Councilman Morgan moved that application be referred to Plt"anin6 <br />Co"zinission, seconded by Councilman Holmquist. City Attorney stated that a deposit <br />was required at the same time application is filed. Motion carried. <br />LETTER FROM NASH MOTORS, 1026 EL CAMINO REAL, WAS READ IN REGARDS TO INSTALLATION OF ONE <br />HOUR PARKING LIMIT ON WESTERLY LINE OF EL CAMINO REAL between James and Jefferson <br />Avenues, and petitioned the Council to grant them a loading zone in front of their <br />building to accommodate two service vehicles, an emergency tow truck and pick-up <br />truck as they had only one exit and entrance leading into El Camino Real, and stated <br />that the one hour limit interferred with the operation of their business of servicing <br />maintaining, and selling automobiles. Mayor Werder suggested this be referred to <br />the Traffic and Safety Commission. Councilman Granger moved that their request be re=: <br />f erred to the Traffic and Safety Commission, seconded by Councilman Morgan, and <br />carried. <br />..i <br />PLANNING COMMISSION INFORMED THE COUNCIL BY LETTER THAT TO LEGALLY SET OFFICIAL PLAN LINES <br />on N W corner of -El Camino Real and Whipple, they must hold two public hearings <br />and adopt the plan lines as a part of the Street and Highway Plan of the city and <br />desired to know whether Council wanted the Commission to proceed along these lines <br />or if they wanted a recommendation at this time without official action. Council- <br />man Granger moved that the Planning Commission be instructed to proceed; to hold the <br />hearings in order to establish official Plan Lines, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, <br />and carried. <br />LETTER FROM PLANNING COMMISSION INFORMED COUNCIL THAT APPLICATION OF SAMUEL F. CAPPA TO <br />RE -SUBDIVIDE Lot 3, Portion of Lots 2 and 4, Valota Park, had been laid over until <br />they knew the status of permit apparently issued to Wm. Delaney to board horses on <br />this property. Under the Zoning Ordinance, boarding of horses is illegal in an <br />Rrl District, unless it is a non -conforming use. Communication order filed. <br />LETTER FROM EDWARD SPITZER, OWNER OF Lot 1, Block 10, High School Acres, south corner of <br />James Street and Sapphire Street, which had been subdivided into two lots July 1st, <br />corner frontage 79.19 and inside piece 75 foot frontage both on James, stated he <br />had purchaser for the inside lot and said the purchaser desired to buy the property <br />clear of the lien of any street work. According to the present Assessment District, <br />the entire lot is to be assessed with the amount of the work for the improvement of <br />Sapphire Street. Since the amounts were not yet available to pay the Street Bonds <br />and since his purchaser desired property clear of any Street Bonds, Mr. Spitzer <br />wished to know if it were possible to have the entire lien placed on the corner <br />piece and have the inside piece declared clear of any such lien.
