456 <br />Spillers, and carried on roll call. Councilman Swift noted absent. <br />CITY ATTORNEY REQUESTED AUTHORITY TO FILE DISCLAIMER TO A SUIT TO QUIET TITLE FILED <br />BY MRS. STANLEY WOOD. He was so authorized on motion of Councilman Granger, <br />seconded by Councilman Morgan, and carried. <br />LETTER RECEIVED FROM ATTOR11EY PAUL A. McCARTHY RELATIVE TO THE MATTER OF AN ATTEMPT TO <br />OBTAIN FROM THE COUNTY THE GREATER PORTION OF 1/4 cent gas tax for the purpose of <br />repairing County Roads within the corporate City Limits. It was moved by Councilman <br />Granger, seconded by Councilman Britschgi that City Manager Rolison and City Attorney <br />Currie meet with representatives of Belmont, San Carlos, and other cities interested, <br />City Manager Rolison to make arrangements with Mr. McCarthy for the meeting. After <br />the conference they are to refer the matter to the League of California Municipali- <br />ties and report back to the Council. <br />CITY ATTORNEY CURRIE REQUESTED RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING NOTICE OF SALE BE PUBLISHED OF PROP- <br />ERTY FOR THE AR11ORY SITE.. This would be necessary to establish the value of property <br />and an appraisal would have to be made before the sale could be completed, and title <br />cleared. Councilman Britschgi offered the resolution and moved its adoption, seconded <br />by Councilman Morgan, and carried on roll call, Councilman Swift noted absent. <br />RE SOLUTION No. 590 <br />AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF NOTICE OF SALE OF REAL PROPERTY (ARMORY SITE) <br />WHEREAS the State of California is desirous of obtaining a site for an armory <br />for the National Guard in the City of Redwood City; and <br />WHEREAS an appropriate site has been agreed upon; and <br />WHEREAS, by the provisions of Paragraph 18, Section 3, of the Charter of Redwood <br />City notice must be published prior to the sale of any property owned by the City; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that <br />the City Attorney be instructed to publish notice of sale of the property herein- <br />after described; <br />FURTHER RESOLVED that prior to the sale of said property, an appraiser be <br />appointed to determine the value of said property. <br />The property referred to herein is all that real property in the City of Redwood <br />City, County of San Mateo, State of California, more particularly described as follows: <br />PARCEL 1. <br />A portion of Lot numbered twenty-one (21) as shown on that certain map entitled <br />"Wooster, Whitton and Montgomery's Subdivision of a part of the Redwood Farm", <br />which map was filed in the office of the County Recorder of San Mateo County, <br />on -July 9, 1902 in Book "E" of Original Maps at page 31 and copied into Book 3 <br />of Maps at page 10, described as follows: <br />BEGINNING AT A POINT on the Southwesterly boundary of said Lot 21, distant <br />thereon 150 feet Northwesterly from the Northwesterly line of Roosevelt Avenue; <br />thence from said point of beginning Northwesterly along said Southwesterly <br />boundary 263.5 feet; thence Northeasterly parallel with said line of Roosevelt <br />Avenue 277.7 feet to the Northeasterly boundary of said Lot 21; thence South- <br />easterly along said Northeasterly boundary 263.5 feet; thence Southwesterly <br />parralel with said line of Roosevelt Avenue 277.7 feet to the point of <br />beginning. CONTAINING 1.68 acres, more or less. <br />PARCEL 2. <br />An easement for ingress and egress over and upon a portion of Lot numbered <br />twenty-one (21) as shown on that certain map entitled "Wooster, Whitten and <br />Montgomery's Subdivision of a part of the Redwood Farm", which map was filed <br />in the office of the County Recorder of San Mateo County on July 9, 1902, in <br />Book "E" of Original Maps at page 31 and copied in Book 3 of Maps at page 10, <br />described as follows: <br />BEGINNING at a p -)int on the Southwesterly boundary of said Lot 21, distant <br />thereon 413.50 feet Northwesterly from the Northwesterly line of Roosevelt <br />Avenue; thence from said point of beginning Northwesterly along said South- <br />westerly boundary 100 feet; thence Northeasterly parallel with said line of <br />Roosevelt Avenue 277.7 feet to the Northeasterly boundary of said Lot 21; <br />thence Southeasterly along said Northeasterly boundary 100 feet; thence South- <br />westerly parallel with said line of Roosevelt Avenue 277.7 feet to the point <br />of beginning. <br />PARCEL 3. <br />An easement for ingress and egress over and upon Lot numbered five (5) in <br />Block numbered one (1) as shown on that certain map entitled "Magruder's <br />0 <br />0 <br />0 <br />0 <br />
