R E S O L U T I O N No . 591
<br />DECLARING PREMISES AT 524 A14D 526 ARGUELLO STREET A NUISANCE AND ORDERING
<br />ABATEME:\-T WITHIN THIRTY DAYS
<br />WHEREAS L. M. DUNCAN, the Building Inspector of the said City of Redwood City,
<br />did, as required by Ordinance No. 303, post a notice to abate nuisance upon the real
<br />property situated in said City, County of San Mateo, State of California, and partic-
<br />ularly described as follows:
<br />Portion of Lots 1 and 2, Block 7, Range B, Mezesville, commonly known as
<br />ow— 524 and 526 Arguello Street, Redwood. City, California,
<br />and did send a copy of said notice, so posted, by registered mail, postage prepaid,
<br />to the owner is listed upon the books of the City Assessor of said City of Redwood
<br />City, to •Tit: Lino S. Fabbro, at 520 Arguello Stree, Redwood City, California; and
<br />WHEREAS, in and by said notice to abate nuisance said Building Inspector of the
<br />City of Redwood City did fix Monday, the 21st day of June, 1948, at the hour of 8:00
<br />o'clock P.M. of said day at the Council Chambers in the City Hall on Middlefield
<br />Road in said City of Redwood City, as the time and place when the owner of the build-
<br />ings situated upon said real property could appear and be heard and show cause why
<br />said buildings should not be condemned as a public nuisance and abated by reconstruc-
<br />ting or properly repairing said buildings or by razing or removing the same; and
<br />WHEREAS said Council did regularly continue said hearing until the 6th day of
<br />July, 1948, at 8:00 o'clock P. M.; and
<br />WHEREAS said Council did proceed, on the 6th day of July, 1949, with said hearing,
<br />and after considering all objections made and received does determine that due and
<br />legal notice of said hearing was given as required by the ordinances of the City of
<br />Redwood City, as appears from the affidavit of L. M. DUNCAN on file in the office of
<br />the City Clerk;
<br />NOWs THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City and
<br />said Council does hereby declare the buildings or structures situated upon the real
<br />property hereinabove described to be a public nuisance, and does hereby direct the
<br />owner thereof to abate said nuisance within thirty (30) days from the adoption of
<br />this resolution by having said buildings razed or removed, and if said buildings are
<br />not so abated by said owner, the Building Inspector of the City of Redwood City is
<br />hereby ordered and directed to raze or remove said buildings, and that the expenses
<br />thereof be made a lien on the lot or parcel of land from which said buildings or
<br />structures are removed and which is hereinabove described.
<br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Red47ood City at a regular
<br />meeting thereof held on the 6th day of July, 1948, by the following vote:

<br />Ralph S. Dodge. Mayor Werder wished him good luck and expressed appreciation for
<br />his acceptance of office.
<br />FINAL APPROVAL OF MAP OF WOODSIDE TERRACE SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS. City Engineer
<br />Jain stated that with a few minor exceptions this map met with his approval. The
<br />Planning Commission recommended approval provided that any changes requested by
<br />Engineer Jain were made and subject to the following conditions. (1) City required
<br />that five acres be set aside for a future Recreation Area, not as a gift to the City, -
<br />but for a future program, (2) Access be made throughtto Virginia Street from
<br />Woodside Road, (3) Water system question was left to the discretion of the Council.
