468 opportunity. City Clerk Dodge was to notify the members. City Manager Rolison
stated it would be to the City's advantage to have ownership as work could be
started on sanitary fill.
MRS. PETE DEMPSEY INQUIRED ABOUT THE TRAILER COURT AFFAIR IN LENOLT TRACT. Mayor Werder
informed her this had been withdrawn. She also asked about pick-up service for
brush, etc. A carton had been left by the garbage man when the garbage was picked
up. City Collector Perrin was called upon for information regarding the City's
Pick-up Service and stated 85.00 an hour was charged for a truck and two men and
81.50 was the minimum charge. However, if one would phone into the office for an
extra pick-up aside from the garbage can, an extra carton would cost 50 cents or
75 cents.
L. M. SPEARS, 231 B STREET, LENOLT TRACT, ASKED ABOUT PROGRESS OF STREET 11IORK OR PETITION
FOR SAME. City Engineer Jain
stated a petition had been
in about
two weeks
and sig-
natures were being checked.
Others voiced eagerness to
have this
street in
before
winter as they had had five winters of a great deal of grater and mud. There was
considerable discussion on this proposed project, one petitioner stated it was in
their FHA contract that the street would have to be in before the loan was annroved
by thea. City Attorney Currie stated that the FHA could not contract for the City
and offered to review his FHA contract if he would bring it to him. It appeared
that this work could not be done before winter with all other pending street work and
projects that held precedence over this. Outside contracting was discussed and con-
sidered too expensive which might also lead into the same difficulty as Broadway
No. 3. City Engineer Jain agreed to attempt some relief from water by having the
gutters graded before the rainy season.
MAYOR ?,'ERDER ASKED FOR PERMISSION to leave the State from July 16th to August lst. Coun-
cilman Granger moved that the permit be granted, seconded by Councilman Holmquist,
and carried.
COUNCILMAN GRANGER ASKED ABOUT A QUONSET HUT being erected on E1 Camino Real, south of
Five Points. It was believed that this permit was taken out before the new ordinance
was passed. Building Inspector stated this was in the second Fire District and in
strict sense not considered a bona fide Quonset Hut, although of this type, as a
Quonset had straight sides and round roof. Councilman Granger suggested this be put
on the agenda for report back by Building Inspector, in an effort to determine
whether this is failure of ordinance and if so something should be done to overcome
future hermits of this kind.
RESOLUTION No. 594. Signing of checks and necessar;T documents during the Mayor's absence.
Councilman Granger offered resolution and moved adoption authorizing City Manager
Rolison to sign checks in the Mayor's absence, seconded by Councilman Spillers,
and carried on roll call. Councilman BritschgI noted absent.
R E S 0 L U T I O N No . 594.
AUTHORIZING CITY YWIZAGER E. A.
